  • Tempeh is fantastic if you want something with a substantial chew. My fiance uses tempeh to substitute for red meat and tofu for chicken in most of his recipes. So yum!
  • Nope. The calorie listing at the beginning of the nutrition label is all inclusive. It just breaks out the calories from fat to give people a more objective idea of how much fat is in that food.
  • From a girl's prospective... I didn't go on my first date until I was 20. I didn't have my first boyfriend until I was 25. But I learned a lot about me and what I want and who I am, so when the time came and I found someone I wanted to spend time with I appreciated it all the more and didn't accept less than what I should…
  • First: doctor asap Second: You should Google hypoglycemia and see if any of those symptoms sound familiar. If so your doctor can run blood tests to verify. I am hypoglycemic and if I didn't eat a meal before working out, I'd pass out too.
  • I use Optimum Nutrition. I get it at GNC. I put a scoop in my oatmeal in the morning. Or I do a quicky shake with one scoop, half cup frozen strawberries, and half a cup of milk. If I'm low on calories I may just mix one scoop with a cup of water. It's an easy and cheap way to get more protein in your diet!
  • Why do you feel it necessary to make snide comments on other people's threads? It doesn't reflect well upon you. Edited to add: I think it is a great way to get protein in your diet in a cost effective and less filling way. Personally I've had luck with Optimum Nutrition. I get it at GNC for a decent price.
  • If you go to the link in your signature, you can update the amount. Copy and paste the link and it will direct you. Hope that helps!
  • I think it depends on how your body is designed. I'm hypoglycemic and have to eat before I workout or it isn't worth putting on my gym shoes. I don't eat much afterwards either. It's a chore to drink a protein shake. My boyfriend, however, never eats before and has a full meal after we're done. His way would have me…
  • If you have one nearby, Sam's Club can be a great resource. Not everything is a good deal so you have to be conscious of that. I split a membership with my parents. Milk is about $2 cheaper a gallon, cottage cheese is a steal, and they have a variety of protein bars for way below grocery store prices. Just another option…
  • As far as brands go, I've had a great deal of luck with Optimum Nutrition. They are often on sale at GNC. I like the rich double chocolate flavor. I actually use a scoop of banana cream with my whole oats oatmeal in the morning.
  • Well, some people choose not to eat meat and still want to ensure they are consuming enough protein. Just something to think about before jumping someone for asking a question...
  • Of course! I'd love that!
  • Honestly, in my experience, it is all about what you eat. While calories are calories, your body needs fuel to do everything you're demanding from it. You should be watching your nutrient balance of carbs, protein, and fat. I'm by no means perfect, and I make no claims to it, but I've personally had a great deal more…
  • I have a really crazy schedule too. I'm either at work or at school from 6:45 in the morning until 6:30 at night. Then there's dinner and homework. By 8 I'm ready for bed! But... I exercise anyway. I bought an elliptical a few years ago that admittedly sat unloved for about a year and a half. Now I just get on it after…
  • I know we aren't officially weighing in, but I was down to 178 this morning! (Silly skinny boyfriend doesn't have a scale for Sunday morning weigh ins) Hope everyone had a great weekend!
  • I've had one for quite awhile, but have only been wearing it the second go-round for a few days. I lost the digital display and became discouraged with the whole thing when I first bought it. This time around, I just do what I should be doing and see how it goes at the end of the day when I plug it in. I don't try to game…
  • I wear a medium shirt, but I have a more "delicate" torso and carry my weight in my hips and thighs. Their "long" section has longer sleeves (YES!!) and a longer length. They even have coats in "longs". For the first time ever, my coat sleeves don't stop before they hit my wrists! I'm 178 (today) and wear a size…
  • If you aren't afraid of ordering online, Eddie Bauer online has fantastic clothes for tall women. I shop their clearance and have completely restocked my wardrobe with pants and shirts that are actually long enough! I can't say enough good things about them! For what it's worth, I'm 6'0", all leg, weigh 180, and wear a…
  • I'd love to join! I'm 179 right now, so my goal would be 164. This challenge is perfect! When are we ending? If we're going every two weeks, it coincides with Sunday July 31st. Or are we just going until July 1st?
