Hey Nicole! I think many of us did just as you. Welcome back! and I'd love to add you as a friend for our mutual encouragement! Justin

Don't feel guilty about enjoying a little of what you think tastes good. Try to limit how much and it will work itself out, unless you are looking to be a fitness model or professional athlete? I don't always eat super clean (I have kids so pizza happens), and I enjoy an alcoholic drink when I want. I just make sure to…

I started as a resolutioner and after a few failed years, it finally clicked. Maybe we can help a few of them this year to become lifers like us!

A small bale of hay! Correction! A 5000 BTU air conditioner lol

I didn't have a lot to lose, but hated the way I looked and felt. I was at 240lbs at my heaviest, and am 6'. I started with portion control and less fried food about a year ago. Then I started trying to work out on my own. In January/February time frame I decided to get real and started focusing on eating healthy food with…

That is amazing! You look younger and I know married but hot! As for the last bit, change things up in your workout if you are normally doing the same thing. Just about any of Beachbody's programs would help you knock off that last bit you are trying for. Congrats again and always remember that you did this!!!!!!

It is very hard, but as you progress it gets better. I still can't complete every part of every workout, but hey, those people are super fit and they fall out too!!! And the best part is, I feel great! My kids can't keep up and that's so backwards from where I was two months ago.

Ok they should show now. It's amazing how much you lose in the last phase of the workout. Most of my loss was that last month. This is the first time I've ever seen any bit of my abs. Now I just have to make them really stand out!

can you see the photos? I just see the links.

Ok, what am I doing wrong on the pics? Any suggestions?

My fiance is in week two, and has let me watch her twice (normally does it after I go to work). It is kicking her but, but she loves the workouts. She's not really much over weight, but wants to look her best for our wedding and honey moon. I'm just finishing Insanity, and plan to mix CX with it for a good hybrid after a…

EAS whey can be purchased at Sam's in a very large bag for very cheap. I normally drink one in the morning first thing with skim milk and a shot of chocolate syrup, then another with just water right after my workout. I've lost quit a bit of weight doing this, I just make sure to count them in my calories. I also eat a…

A lot of my coworkers have done it and loved it. I'm sure it will help you out a lot.

I'm hoping this is about as small as my waist gets. My body fat is down to 15% which is in the ideal range for my age. If anything I'm working on building my abs up which may make it a little bigger (?) But I'm still going to stay away from the expensive brands until I know for sure. How often does one wear jeans in Texas…

Welcome to MFP and the Air Force! This is a great time for you to really hit it hard. I'd honestly focus on a high cardio workout to prep for basic. I'm partial to Insanity, which would help greatly with all parts of the workout you will see there. Just don't be like me and sit on the couch for a month before you leave…

Hey thanks for that site info! I will be checking it out. I'm going to try to take the Lucky Brand stuff back and see if they will let me exchange it. They have an amazing exchange policy, so I might just stretch the truth and say they stretched ;)

I just sent this to my fiance, who started ChaLean Extreme this morning. Thanks for sharing that great information!

Oh, and I did want to comment on how my BMI reads. It shows me overweight until I reach 184lbs (6' tall). I'm at 192. My body fat % is 14% which is very healthy for my age (35). I don't know that I will reach 184 because I'm attempting to add some muscle mass now that I've got my body fat down to a good level. I don't have…

For those talking about losing lean muscle weight as you lose fat, here is a good example of how to figure it out. Your goal is to lose a higher percentage of fat than lean muscle, but you will for sure lose some muscle, as one member said earlier. The article also explains how to measure body fat % using calipers. Good…

I have only seen a preview of Turbo Fire, but you might like Insanity. It is massive cardio, but also a ton of body weight strength training (squats, lunges, moving push-ups, V push-ups....). No, you won't build loads of muscle like weights would do, but you will shred what you have (and put on a little more). I'm not…

I commented on not eating your workout calories, but all of a sudden I'm worried about wether or not I should start. I recently hit phase 2 of Insanity, plus lift weights and run with my fiance when our schedules permit. I'm averaging 1200 calories burnt from exercise a day now. My starting goal was a 500 calorie deficit…

lisabel87, I don't eat back my workout calories, and I still have the energy to make it through the day even working out twice. If you are looking to loose weight, don't eat them. If you want to maintain, maybe eat some of them and see how you feel and how your measurements go. It's easy to adjust, so just listen to your…

I have children, and I use them as motivation. They always want to play in the back yard or at the park, and I would never really get into it with them, simply because I was out of shape. Now they can't keep up with me. I want my kids to look at me as a role model in all parts of life, including school (going back for my…

Hippo421, thanks for the info! I do eat a lot of whole grains and get protein from lean meats, protein bars and shakes (snacks and post workout). I also make sure to eat fish and nuts high in Omega 3 fats, as well as tons of green leafy veggies like spinach. I don't see muscle going away, I just didn't have a whole lot…

I made it through 5 weeks back in September 2010 time frame, but then had to have emergency surgery for a gall bladder full of stones. The doc actually said my sudden change of diet probably caused them (who knew changing to healthy could cause trouble). I started again this year, and am 6 weeks in, though I had to take a…

When I made those changes in my life I didn't sleep well for about a week. Once my body got used to the changes I slept much better than before.

I've really liked Insanity. So much of it is based on the drills I did back in high school sports training. It has quite a bit of body weight strength built in, so I am seeing muscle gain, though not as much as I'd see with P90x. That's next!

Thanks! I looked back and found that the calculator that had that comment didn't have a way of accounting for exercise. It was basically just activity level, height and weight. No where near as handy as myfitnesspal!
