I'm really interested in this too. I lost a lot of weight and am now really into exercising, and I want to train for a bike race. I keep my daily calorie intake at 1400 and friends say that is too low. So I'm wondering what is TDEE?

I agree with this, but there is something else here. MFP not only tracks calories, but also protein and carbs...for a reason. You should look at what TYPES of food you're eating, not just how much of it or how many calories. I have a friend who cannot lose weight, no matter how much she exercises, if she consumes too many…

Can you let me know what are examples of insulin-spiking carbs? I'm not good with that type of food discernment and really need to lose the last 5-8 pounds of stubborn belly fat.

It looks like the answer to my question, if I'm understanding most of these posts, is that you should take in the calories that you burn (eating more on the exercise days) in order to figure the 1200 (or so) daily caloric goal, right? I LOVE Tae Bo!! I bought "Tae Bo AMPED" from someone on Ebay and it's a four-disc set (with five different workouts) and comes with the amp bar (3 pound bar that collapses and expands). Billy Blanks' routines are great, and he is motivating. I always feel awesome when I'm done...and yes, it gets results!! :smile:
