Just getting back into a healthy lifestyle and can always use additional motivation/support.

Well it IS that time of year :) Thank you for the warm welcome!

Starting anew in twenty fifteen... 'add me' if you know what I mean... (and I think you do!)
-
I just rolled over to the big four oh last year. I am re-starting MFP today to hopefully start some good habits for the back 9 of my life.
-
Jessica, I don't see a Jessica Albert with that join date... two of the three had 12/21 and one had an October join date.
-
I added you both... Amanda and Ashley.
-
Big enough.

I would strangle you with your own tie and break that wine glass off in your face. Me.

Leave it at home. Don't wear anything you want to keep. Duct tape your shoes on.

I have to agree with Niner. I found I like to obsess over the scale so I have starting trying to use my willpower to only weigh one day a week... It's hard, and sometimes I cheat, but I find I am not beating myself up on a daily basis for something I can't fully control (how my body works.)
-
I would add that, in a way, swimming is sort of both a cardio and a resistance exercise. You are using those triceps to push your body through the water.
-
I kind of think of them as the yin and yang of personal fitness. Each has its place. Cardio burns calories... which is good for working off the burger you ate for lunch. Weightlifting, or resistance exercises, boosts your metabolism which causes you to burn more calories while resting long after you lift. To strike a good…

I will let the experts weigh in Isabella but one thing to remember is that your body counts as weight. So when you are doing body weight exercises (push-ups, burpees, etc.) like in Insanity and the like you are also getting a strength workout.

30 pounds on a 300+ pound guy is about the same as a 150 pound person losing 15 or so. You should be able to tell it in other ways but it might not be as drastic in the pictures. Plus you are fully clothed which makes it hard since your shirt hanging off your shoulders kind of frames your upper body and your shorts hide…

It was too great, and timely, not to share! I got caught up in the heat of the moment. Sorry for the sabotage to your feed privacy!

It would be great if even the people ON a gluten free diet knew what gluten was LOL: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/05/06/gluten-free-people-have-no-idea-what-gluten-is_n_5273980.html?ir=Comedy

Just do what Hulk Hogan told kids to do back in the 80's. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMkC67sEEs8

I have never used that specific one but from what I have read (and seen through personal experience) about most diet supplements is that once you stop using them the weight comes back on. There is no regulation for them either, by the FDA, so there is no guarantee you are even getting what you pay for... much less whether…

Well hello there! My name is Eric but you can call me 3LB. I joined MFP about three weeks ago but my scale has been moving in the opposite direction since joining! It is my fault though. I would like to lose more than 10 pounds by June 1st but 10 is a nice reasonable goal. If you want some motivation and some laughs you…

I used to shove my belly together and the big crease it made I would call it my 'belly butt'... now with my recent appendectomy I don't have to squeeze the sides anymore LOL

One of those Jones soda holiday collections. I think it was 'Turkey and Gravy" flavored soda.
-
Thank you all for your words of encouragement! I am always, and still, looking for new friends so add me if you want to... my current friends can tell you how supportive I can be!

Although.... definition number 2 is kind of open to interpretation and could fit someone saying someone is out to sabotage their diet: sab·o·tage [sab-uh-tahzh, sab-uh-tahzh] noun 1. any underhand interference with production, work, etc., in a plant, factory, etc., as by enemy agents during wartime or by employees during a…

I've used it before... but it was more in a tongue in cheek manner. I know that my co-workers don't secretly conspire to make me fatter by bringing in unhealthy foods for the food table. Sabotage does have a nice 'je ne sais quois' about it though so I used it. And... got some guy to tell me that no one is sabotaging me.
-
I was looking through your food diary and, unless you are not recording everything, it looks like you are WAY under your goals each day... is that healthy? Most of your days would fit into a 1200 calorie diet.

... and I say unlimited resources assuming you aren't independently wealthy... which maybe untrue. But, if you are wealthy I would just hire a private trainer :)

I remember the one time my wife sent me in to talk to my daughter's Tae Kwon Do instructor (a something degree blackbelt with an undefeated full contact tournament record) about how she felt he disrespected her. It was awkward... but less awkward than going there several times a week and wanting to say something.
