  • Sounds exactly like my symptoms. I was diagnosed 10 years ago. There is a PCOS group http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/3070-p-c-o-sis, that can share lots of insight.
  • Thank you for this information. I am pretty clueless when it comes to eating the right foods, hence, the weight gain. But this info is great.
  • How does one focus on low carbs? What are good carbs to eat?
  • Wow! I am so glad I found this group. I was diagnosed with PCOS about 11 years ago. I never really paid it any attention and just resigned myself to the fact that my husband and I would never have any children, and I am okay with that. I will be 50 years old in November and am really making an effort to lose weight because…
  • Great suggestion with the juices and cheese. I hadn't tried that but I will add that to list.
  • I will try that. We do lots of coconut oil for everything at my house. A little added to foods could be beneficial as well.
  • Cool, that makes me feel better about not eating when I am not hungry.
  • Yes, but moderation is a word that doesn't always exist in my vocabulary.
  • That is what I was kinda of worried about. I have gotten that response about eating so few calories will cause my body to think it's being starved and then the weight might not come off. I don't think it happens frequently, maybe twice a week, so that's good to know.
  • Now that is one I haven't tried. Peanut butter sounds like a good choice for a evening snack.
  • I ate mostly junk and fast food type stuff before, stuff that I thought was harmless. Yea right! I am really trying to stay away from that especially due to sodium content in some of the foods I ate. I don't even want to taste some of that stuff again because I know I will go spiraling completely out of control.
  • I added you! We can do this together.
  • Thanks phantomrain10. This does help, especially the protein snack ideas. I am having a problem finding low sodium options which forces me to be better prepared for my meal options. It is getting easier and I find that I am still motivated as well. Thanks again for the motivation.
  • Hello - I'm not 50 yet but will be in November of this year. I am celebrating it early on a cruise with friends and family and that is part of my motivation to lose the weight. My other motivation is just too feel better both mentally and physically. I don't feel like I am too late in making a change. I feel like it is a…
  • I know exactly how you feel. I have just joined the journey of really journaling about everything that I eat and I am truly amazed about how much sodium is included with everything. It's hard to find low sodium options.
  • Thanks ransaka. That was very helpful, good for putting things into perspective.
