For me it's a sign of one of two things: low electrolytes, or dehydration.

I currently have a tear in one of the tendons in my elbow. It's extremely painful! It didn't show in x-rays, so I had an MRI. Have your friend see a sports medicine doctor.

I don't feel guilty about eating. When I was in "losing weight mode", if I ate more than my calorie goal, I'd log it and make sure to stick to my goal more carefully for the next few days. Unless you are eating food that belongs to someone else, feeling guilty about food doesn't make sense.
-
If it were me, I would do my best to estimate the calories in the food and log it. But that's me, and you probably have different priorities and goals than I do.

I don't understand the thought process behind cheat days. When I was losing, some days I ate fewer calories, some days I ate more, but my weekly calories where always within my limit. Otherwise, you're just going to wipe out any calorie deficit and not lose weight. I made room in my calorie allowance for treats and social…

It is not impolite to turn down food, but it is impolite to push food on others. When offered food I don't want I just say, "no, thank you". If the person repeats the offer or starts to get pushy, I repeat the same words a bit more emphatically. Don't let other people have power over what you eat.

If I had to run on the treadmill all winter, I wouldn't run at all. Staying inside is not the only way to be safe.
-
Not for me. I'm often hungry, sometimes even right after a meal, even while I'm over eating. If my hunger cues worked, I wouldn't have gained weight in the first place.

The Kalenji has a red light on the back.
-
I will second the Kaleji run light. I'm in the US and went to great trouble to get one of these because it's so good. I dread the day the light dies and I have to replace it.

It's true for me. If the high fat food is salty, so much the better.

Chili cheese Fritos. I cannot say no, and I can't have just one.

You should really be eating more. Here's an interesting thread https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10761904/under-1200-for-weight-loss/

Everyone's experience is different, but I was unable to lose any weight at all while I was nursing. But the moment I stopped nursing, the weight started to melt off.
-
This wasn't my experience at all. I was born in the sixties and ate my way through the 70s, 80s, and 90s. I had a healthy breakfast before school, a good lunch at midday, then I would come home and graze(I'd make a Swanson's TV dinner, then cheese, chips, white bread with butter smeared on it, etc.) until dinner time when…

I prefer to have big, filling meals, instead of small, unsatisfying snacks. It's just better for me. You do you.
-
It wouldn't be enough for me at all. I'm 53, 5'4", and lost weight eating an average of 1720 per day. Even if I wasn't working out, I could lose on a lot more than 1250.
-
I lost my thyroid to cancer so my situation is a little different than yours, but my experience is that when my performance goes down it means that my meds need adjusting. And I run better when I'm under-medicated than when I'm over-medicated.

What works for you may not be what works for me. I weigh myself every day and track my weight on a trending app. Weighing only every couple of weeks wouldn't give me enough data.
-
I'm about two years into maintenance and only log sporadically, maybe once every two weeks. I only do it as a check to make sure my portions aren't creeping up without me noticing.
-
No they don't. No food will turn to fat if you are in a calorie deficit. Any food will turn to fat if you are in a calorie surplus. It's all about the calories.
-
starting a new exercise routine can cause you to retain water. Keep at it and the water weight will normalize. Are you eating at a deficit? Just eating "healthier" won't cause weight loss, you have to actually eat less than your body needs.

Sponges, wash cloths, and puffs are germ factories. I'm not normally a germaphobe, but I'm prone to rashes and excema. Using something that's been sitting in a damp shower will cause a rash. Even using a towel more than twice will cause a rash. I do exfoliate with exfoliating gloves once per week, then they go in the wash.
-
Yeah, I thought he just meant regular gym showers. But if he means something like you see in prison movies where it's a bunch of shower heads in the wall with no separation, that would be a hard no. I don't get naked in public.

I haven't seen the TED Talk, but people get obese on all kinds of diets, and people lose weight on all kinds of diets. If eating a high starch diet is satisfying to you, go for it. It wouldn't work for me and I don't like restricting any thing from my diet.

Increasing fiber too fast can cause stomach distress. Increase your fiber intake slowly and, if you're tracking, you should be able to monitor how much fiber you're getting. These foods are good for you, but if you're not used to eating them in quantity, you need to increase your intake slowly.

It's a toss-up between rice, potatoes, my homemade ravioli, and homemade pizza.

Bench and rack w/pulley system, Free weights (standard and Olympic), adjustable dumb bells, Treadmill, Swiss ball, two sets of steps, Ab roller, mountain bike, yoga mat, running shoes I haven't been inside a gym in years.

It sure can. It did for me. I was going along as I always have with heavy, painful periods, then one day they just stopped. There was no tapering, or spotting for months, no hot flashes, or any other symptoms you usually hear of, they just stopped. Though I was a little older than you.
