  • I'd like to add that everyone said the weight would just fall off with breastfeeding and for me that was absolutely NOT the case. I dropped a lot of my weight once I stopped breastfeeding. *shrug* hormones are weird!
  • COTTAGE CHEESE with whatever you want in it. high protein and can be mixed with sweet or savory items for whatever flavor you feel like. I mix mine with hard boiled eggs, which obviously wont work for you, but you can try tomatos, avocado, or other fruit.
  • I gained 70 lbs (yikes!) I was very active prior to becoming pregnant. But then I had knee surgery *right* before becoming pregnant, which severely limited my activity in the early months when I wasn't huge. And then the only thing that kept my nausea at bay was keeping my stomach full. Once baby was born, I lost 30 of it…
  • Hi! my baby is 9 months but I'm still working off the baby weight. I'll send you a friend request :)
  • Postpartum health is hard! Solidarity! My baby is almost 7 months old and I'm still working on that balance. But walking is a great thing to do until you get the ok for more, and you're already doing that, so good job!
  • Congratulations! I had my baby about 4 months ago via C section and I'm working off the baby weight too. Feel free to add me!
  • I like both for different reasons. My stride is definitely different on treadmill vs. outside so I think incorporating both is probably working different muscles. I find running on a treadmill to be harder because it forces me to keep my pace even when I'm tired. Outside when I get tired I tend to slow down, but outside is…
  • Good answers above, but I'll add, if you lower your seat too much, you can stress out your knees. Since you're not doing 100 mile rides, you probably don't need a professional bike fit (they are expensive). But your bike shop should be able to give you some free guidance. The quick way I learned for seat height: Sit on…
  • You don't need a food scale yet. Many people are plenty successful without a food scale until they get very close to their goal. Just eat lots of veggies (which are cheap, low calorie, and filling) in addition to the other foods you need to make sure you're getting all your protein, fat, carbs, etc. And definitely eat back…
  • For people who use air poppers, it's easier to measure the kernels pre-popped so you can just make how much you want to eat. The calories change popped vs unpopped because 1/2 cup of kernels will make way more than 1/2 cup popped popcorn. so 1/2 cup unpopped will be more calories than 1/2 cup popped. But if you're using…
  • Hi Ladies, I'm 8-10* weeks and I'm trying to figure out how to stay healthy as my belly grows. So happy to have found this thread! I had unfortunately gained 10 lbs prior to getting pregnant due to an injury and was just starting to get back into the fitness game when I found out about my pregnancy. I'm in the overweight…
  • Yoga with Adriene is a pretty great free youtube channel.
  • I have done several fixes that worked temporarily, but the problem keeps coming back. it's a fitbit/mfp syncing issue. according to myfitnesspal's help page, they are aware of the problem and working on fixing it. edited to say, it's been happening on and off since the beginning of the year, but seems to only be affecting…
  • Good job!! I'm hovering around 170 now, hoping to stay in the 160s for a while and the move into the 150s and ultimately the 140s. your pictures are inspiring me!
  • Thanks! This is my 3rd surgery on this knee so I know the rehab drill pretty well. But the other times I had surgery I really let myself go, using the surgery as an excuse for far longer than warranted. Trying to avoid that this time!
  • Boxing is a great idea! I should have thought of it! Boxing is one of my fav things already.
  • Sometimes I just eat them with hot sauce, other times I cut them up and mix them in cottage cheese.
  • womp womp I'm impatient. lol
  • hard-boiled eggs, string cheese, cottage cheese.
  • Hey I'm 30, looking to lose about 27lbs. I had two ACL surgeries and I'm about to have surgery #3. Hoping I don't gain too much from the recovery!
  • Hi, I realize this is an old thread but I'm just seeing it now. As a former gymnast, I have a history of knee trauma. Surgery #1 was to replace my ACL and clip the mensicus tear. I came back from that 100% 5 years later, surgery #2 was to replace my ACL again and clip more meniscus. I had re-injured myself and ignored it…

  • Calories burned depends on your fitness level and size. I'm 5'5" about 165lbs and I burn about 500-550 calories in an hour jogging 5mph (based on HRM).
  • Starting Weight: 188.7 Challenge starting weight: 166.8 Current Weight: 165.8 Goal for this Challenge: 146.8 Ultimate Goal Weight: 145 Overall I'm down, but I am up from two weeks ago because I went on a week long vacation and wasn't careful. but now that I'm home, I'm back to it!
  • I haven't done one myself, but I have several friends who swear by Hal Higdon http://www.halhigdon.com/training/51130/Half-Marathon-Training-Guide
  • I find the treadmill harder because it forces me to keep pace. When I run outside I slow down as I get tired so I can keep going longer, but on the treadmill I stay at the same pace so it's a harder run. I enjoy doing a mix, some treadmill, some outdoor. My bum knee definitely likes the treadmill more. I think the muscles…
  • This is kind of unrelated, but OP I like your shirt!
