Postpartum Health

I just gave birth last month and am getting back into the fitness and health game. I didnt let myself go too much but I wasn't the most active during pregnancy. I have been very motivated to loose weight starting walking already. I'm ready to start lifting weights and running soon as I get the OK from my doctor. I dont have much of an appetite so I may not be over eating but most likely under eating. I make sure my daughter is well taken care of nutrition and well being wise but Im neglecting my own health in the process. My sleeping schedule is way off and Im sure Im sleep deprived and it contributes to my bad choice of foods. I need to find a balance.

It sounds like you are doing pretty well! Take things one step at a time and just do the best that you can.0

Postpartum health is hard! Solidarity! My baby is almost 7 months old and I'm still working on that balance. But walking is a great thing to do until you get the ok for more, and you're already doing that, so good job!1

This wise woman has said exactly what I was going to say - right down to the 7 month old age of my baby.
It's a balance. Be patient with your body until after the six week postpartum check up. There are still a lot of things going on in your body as a result of your pregnancy and delivery - hormones, muscle changes, healing - and that doesn't even include if you are breastfeeding your baby.
I know it's difficult but try to be patient. Ten months to grow the baby - give yourself at least ten months to reach your prepregnant state. It's ridiculous to expect any mom to "bounce back" really fast. You have a ton on your plate. Give yourself a break.
