  • How does that work? Is it like a pedometer?
  • 6 oz Yoplait lite vanilla yogurt 1/2 cup Kash Go Lean Honey Almond Flax cereal I'm not a real breakfast person, I hate mornings >.<
  • Went over on my calories yesterday at dinner, it was not what I had planned on. Today in my lunch box is an old school favorite. An apple, a ham sandwich on whole grain bread and some rice cake snack thingies. Lots of water too.
  • I'm in! I didn't go to the gym on my three day weekend but I was digging holes for a new fence my husband and I are building and I think I worked harder than I ever do on the weight machines. I lost 3 pounds over those days so I guess it really did help. I wish I could figure out how much yard work burns but either way I'm…
  • I come from a family full of addicts: alcohol, illegal drugs, smoking, you name it. I think some of us are predisposed for that sort of personality. I found that I struggle with moderation of things I enjoy. For example, I never smoked and I can take or leave booze but put a plate of cookies in front of me or a computer…
  • I know the feeling, letting it pile up because you can't motivate yourself to clean. I get overwhelmed and I just want to hide from it all. My husband is better at it and he'll start cleaning something and not say anything to me and the guilt is enough to get me up and moving. But self motivation, it's harder, there is…
  • *big hugs* I know how you feel, when I realized I weighed over 350 lbs I was in shock. I hated myself for letting myself ballon up almost 100 lbs in a year and not noticing how bad it was. I thought about all the times I had dieted and lost weight, how hard I worked and I had thrown it all way in months and months of not…
  • I make a list of things I need to do, breaking them down into micro steps. Rather than 'Sweep Floor' it's "sweep living room" and "sweep hallway". That way I take breaks and it's not so overwhelming.
  • For lunch I have a Ready Pac Apple Bleu Pecan salad and a Cafe Steamer pasta thingy from Healthy Choice. With a half cup of diced watermelon. My food diary is open I think, and I do eat terrible, I'm still trying to wean myself off of processed foods. I eat them too much and they're full of salt.
  • I am not surprised, we're driven by the idea of making money at all costs. It's behind everything in this country. I'll definitely read the article, I've read things like this before and it's sad and scary.
  • That's so good to hear, they're not at that point yet but it probably wouldn't be long. I have a patch of red itchy skin on the front of each leg :/
  • Thank you for this! I will look for one in my area, I think with my insurance I don't need a referral for a specialist but I'll double check that. I appreciate it, it really is a big fear for me. And I also have a bad habit of hiding from my fears rather than dealing with them.
  • Albacore tuna with onion, cilantro and lime juice in a salad with black beans and some salsa.

  • I just want a doctor who will be straightforward and not ignore the issue of my weight or give me the vague diet and exercise routine. I went to a clinic that specializes in weight loss, I should have figured since it was on the rich side of town that it wasn't going to really help me. All she did was push the hormone…
  • Lord of the Rings Online and Secret World are my biggest time dumps, add in Star Wars The Old Republic a friend of mine got me into this past week.
  • Same here. While it is inspiring and sometimes painful to watch The Biggest Loser, it's unrealistic. When those people go home, they don't have celebrity trainers there to push and guide them. They won't have the chefs cooking healthy food. They're on there own, like most of us, and keeping up that sort of intense exercise…
  • I probably should have done this first. Hello all! I'm Crystal and I'm morbidly obese. I'm 34 years old, 5'4'' and 347 lbs. I've never been thin or at a normal weight since I was a preschooler, this is the heaviest I've been as an adult. I'm concerned for my health, not being able to move like I used to, and I'm dreading…
  • At my first 20 lbs lost, I'm going to get a manicure. At 50 lbs, I'm going to drop some cash at a real salon and get my hair cut and colored. I never do those things so it's cool reward for me that does not involve a trip to the Chinese food buffet.
  • What brought here...I've been fat all my life, I think the last photo of me at a normal weight would be when I was four years old. I started gaining weight when I entered school, I don't remember any particular incident that pin pointed it other than I loved sweets. I recall 'candy' being the first word I recognized being…
  • I'd love to ride a horse again or go to the beach without shame. Not worrying about weight limits of chairs or getting stuck between the arm rests -_- Most of all, I want to be able to do things with my husband we used to do when we were in better shape. We've always been heavy but it's got out of control lately,…
  • I would hope what your daughter said might motivate him! Maybe tell him how you'd love for him to be there, to keep you company? Once you get him there, then you can start showing him what workouts you do.
  • 5'4" and want to get down to that range. I have a long...looooong way to go so I'd love some inspiration and help!
  • That's how it works on the playground! I was being facetious, of course. I do think it's stupid that they say they don't judge and yet have judgemental practices. And the tootsie roll bowl, et al. But I really don't care about it, we just go and do our thing and mind our own business. I find it odd that people would…
  • They like to complain because for once the shoe is on the other foot and they're being judged and discriminating against. :P My husband and I go to PF, we like it, it suits our needs as beginners. I'd also like to add that our PF has 6 benches for lifting, including 2 racks of free weights and 1 rack of barbells. I've not…
  • It's true, I didn't think about it like that. Don't worry, Sonic is safe from my wrath. It was just a shock. And thank you for the science behind slushies, I had no idea how they worked.
  • 6 oz of Yoplait lite strawberry yogurt and a 1/2 cup of Kashi GLC Honey Almond Flax mixed in. Yum!
  • This. I really like to eat. I'd rather get my calories from food then drink. ;) No sugar is not the devil, I was being flippant when I said 'if it tastes too good, then it's bad'.
  • Thanks and I agree. It's not worth it. I'd rather get my calories and sugar from something better. I can live without a slush, it was just a surprise. It's like the other day, I found out the real calorie and fat content of regular Ranch Dressing. Blew my mind. I like to find these things out, because it's a lot harder to…
  • It was, I figured Diet Cherry in the slush would be the same as Diet Cherry Limeade. It isn't on the menu, so I should have figured there was a reason. The slush has a sugar water base of 5 cups of sugar to each gallon of water and Diet Limeades have a Diet Sprite base. So it's the base, not the syrup, that will determine…
  • I didn't drink it, I couldn't enjoy that knowing how much sugar was in it and it's not on my eating plan. As for it not being their responsiblity what I consume, of course it isn't. I just remember I work customer service and if a customer was ordering something they thought was diet and it wasn't, I'd let them know just…
