  • I haven't been doing paleo long (5 months) and have taken a couple of breaks, mostly due to vacations or spending time at my in-laws. I notice a couple of things when I do, my energy decreases and my insulin resistance increases. I feel better when I am eating paleo/primal, but it is not always practical.

  • I have noticed that my fasting sugars go from 110s to 140s at that time of the month. It usually goes up for about 3 days around ovulation, and about 2 days before and the first few days of my period.

  • I did get an extra 15 minutes 3 times this week. It did not go the way I had planned, but I made it work.
  • I gained a couple this week 278.6. For my 15 lb goal I'm going to use last week's weight of 275.8, because I'm pretty puffy this week.
  • I will add in an extra 15 minutes 3 times a week. For those that don't know me, I work 12 night shifts. I do pretty good working out on my days off, but have a hard time motivating myself on work nights. I can do 15 minutes though!
  • I have made a few different "fat bombs". I use coconut oil as a base, then add in whatever the recipe calls for. Carb count varies from 0 gm to 8 gm, depending on what else goes in. The bigger ones I sometimes eat instead of a meal.

  • Thanks for the answers. I know alcohol is not good for weight loss, but sometimes I like to enjoy a few drinks anyway. I am going to start a multi-vitamin with iron, I have been low in my micros consistently.

  • I love eggs and eat those most days. I pre-made an egg bake (paleo) and keep it in my freezer for days I need something quick. I love eggs scrambled with spinach, mushrooms, peppers, and onions. Breakfast is one of my favorite things about paleo!
  • I have the same fear. I have decided that my new goal is to lose enough weight to have excess skin. When that happens I will get it removed. I know there is no way my skin will look "normal" after my weight loss and have decided that having a small procedure (even paid for out of pocket) is better than being fat.

  • I do shop at Costco. Their prices on coconut is half of the cheapest I have found anywhere else. I also like to buy produce there because I do my best to not let anything go bad and I am going to finish that pound of spinach instead of cheating with something else.

  • I just joined and would love to have supportive friends. I made an initial weight loss goal of 100 lbs, but should probably lose more than that.
