I'd love to be friends! I'm 24 from the states and I started with 80+ to lose.

there should be a setting in MFP that will calculate your calories needed to maintain weight. you will probably see a little bit of a gain at first but it should even out after a week or two. if not, you're eating too much and you'll have to reduce calories a bit until you find an equilibrium.

I did WW years ago as a teenager and later switched to MFP, but have had the same amount of success. WW was just such a huge waste of money IMO, it was a lot harder to calculate points on the go, and there was just too much emphasis on losing weight every week.

I can't wait to go shopping in my closet! I have so many clothes saved from when I was thinner. I won't have to spend money on anything new since I have lots of stuff in various sizes.
-
I prefer to chew my calories, but if you want to use them, then eat (or in this case drink) your heart out.
-
let's be friends! 43 down with another 53 to go.
-
it's pretty straightforward. follow the MFP calorie suggestion, get a food scale, weigh your foods, count the calories you consume. if you exercise, enter it in the database. you can eat 1/4-1/2 of the calories back. there're lots of stickied posts in the forums covering lots of basics, you just have to look around some…

I'm just under 5'1''. does that count? =D

I'm 24 and always looking for new friends! about half way to my goal weight but need to lose another 42 to get to a healthy weight.

female, 5'1'' 174 pounds TDEE-500 method (TDEE is around 2350) I have cheat days, so daily cals avg around 1850 for 1lb loss 37% bf according to scale daily exercise with stationary bike
-
BMI calculators and charts are super easy to find through Google. don't bother trying to get MFP to change anything, it's a waste of time.
-
my lower legs and ankle area (cankles) and upper arms (batwings). thankfully one of those will go away once I lose enough weight.
-
you will not gain weight if you stay under your sedentary TDEE. stick with MFP's daily calorie suggestions and you should be just fine.
-
I only see one exercise entry in your diary over the past few days, and you ate those calories back. you might need to up your exercise and not eat the calories back.
-
it all depends on your TDEE vs how many calories you consume daily. as long as you still eat under your TDEE you will still lose weight.
-
"So I don't move to even burn calories so ANYTHING I do eat I feel my body stores it." this is the mentality of someone with a life threatening eating disorder. your body burns calories on its own by just existing, you do not need to exercise in order to lose weight you put on. if you do not fuel your body you are just…

I don't know what you're selling, but we don't want it.
-
plan your dinners out the night before so there's no guesswork and no debating between what and how much to eat. stop by the store on the way home if you need more groceries.
-
don't listen to MFP. Google the IIFYM TDEE calculator, figure out your TDEE. subtract 500 cals, that's how much you should eat to lose 1 pound per week. 1200 is way too little for you.
-
it does not want to reward you for eating less than 1000 calories a day.
-
almost half way to my goal. I'm down about 42 pounds since last August with a lot of screwing around inbetween.
-
are you getting enough sleep? if I don't get at least 7 hours of good quality sleep I retain water like crazy.
-
experiment with raw vs cooked, you may like something in its raw form but not cooked, and also the other way around. my favorite way to incorporate a bunch is to make a stir fry with chicken, brown rice, lots of vegetables, and some kind of sauce, like light alfredo, honey mustard, bbq, or sweet and sour. I use corn,…

go back into your goals and change your settings to lose 1 pound per week so you can eat more. there's no reason to torture yourself.
-
let's be friends! started with 95 to lose. I'm also from Florida!
-
are you saying that you lost 10lbs when you stopped drinking Coke?
-
10 pounds a month might be realistic for someone who has a lot to lose, which you do not. I do not think you will be successful without having to starve yourself. adjust your expectations accordingly, aim for 6-8 pounds a month at the most and you won't spend the next 3 months completely miserable and setting yourself up…
-
I can definitely relate. I had lost about 60 and then gained back 90 before finally coming back here. I know not to make the same mistakes again once I reach my goal weight.
-
hey hey! St Pete/Clearwater checking in.

are you going over your calories? then don't worry about it. eat when you're hungry, don't force it when you're not.
