look up Low GI Carbs.... High GI (anything with a rating of 50-100) - eg white breads etc. gives you a quick spike of energy and then you have a low again and want more... Low GI Foods (whole wheat breads, brown rice etc.) will keep you fuller for longer so you're not eating as much... i hope that makes sense. im trying to…

I'm studying at the moment to be a personal trainer, and this is what i've been learning; protein only works if you're burning it off. Excess protein is stored as - guess what? - fat. When you are exercising, your body uses the your food for fuel in this order: Carbohydrates then Proteins then fats. The guidelines (in…

my thoughts exactly. Take it as a compliment girl! She was probably not wanting to make a big happy "omg look at you, you look amazing" about it just in case, because a) she's probably done it before and doesn't ever want to make someone feel bad again, and/or b) cancers and illnesses are growing at such rapid rates these…

The way i see it is, your body is going through some pretty crazy *kitten* when TOM comes to visit. When TOM's here i tend to just listen to my body and give her everything she asks for.. She's not usually constantly craving naughty stuff, but she knows better than i do what she needs at that time, and if i deprive her i…

the general recommendation is 0.8grams per kilogram of body weight to 1.8g per kilogram of body weight for elite athletes. i'm about 65 kilos, so my recommended protein intake is 52g per day. not much. With pounds, you divide your weight in pounds by 2.2 which will give you your weight in kilograms. Then take 0.8 and…

i have recently frozen a bunch of seriously black bananas and then used them for banana bread later on. the only suggestion i've picked up (and it was from this post) is to peel them prior to freezing. i had the unlucky job of trying to peel freezing cold, soggy, wet, reeeally over ripe bananas. not fun.
