Just to clarify the bike thing. I have my road bike set on a trainer, so I have gears and I can stand up to push hard. I was under the impression that since this set up works like a spin bike, that it is a step above a classic big seat stationary bike. Maybe I am wrong about that. Doesn't spinning burn more calories than a…

meshashesha20 - Thanks for the smile! :)

All, thanks, I also do a lot of weights, lunges and stuff on my feet, but I have no way to really figure out those calories from MFP, so I don't look at that part of the workout when counting calories burned. I use the bike because I can't run or jump due to my two decrepit Achilles tendons. I think I will investigate the…

I am too lazy to log most days. I just long once and a while to get a general idea of how my calories/exercise ratio is doing. This week I have been doing 40 minutes bike, 10-15 minutes weights 5 days in the week. Last week was the opposite. My little home gym doesn't have many options.

You look years younger and happier! Good job.

Nothing. Today was day 2 of my modified 2/5 fast/eat week. 2 days at modified fasting at 500 calories followed by 5 days normal eating. Watch Eat, Fast and Live longer. Fascinating!

Butt first, then stomach. I recently lost over and 1.5in in my hips and 0 off my waist!

My sister told me that she had "no time for all those hoity-toity rich snobby women who spend their lives trying to fit into size 0 clothes". Firstly, I just started working after several years of unemployment so am in no way rich. I can't even afford a gym right now with a job. Secondly, I am not a snob, and finally I am…

100 pounds. I am at 106 right now and feel good.

You might want to read up on what a normal body fat is. If you drop too low, you won't have to worry about eating anything but worms.

WOW!

Thanks. I never drank diet soda as I don't like the after-taste. I gave up my 1-coke-a-month regular soda treat about 10 months ago. Myson is allergic to corn, so I did it ito be in solidarity with him. That keeps me from straying.

Very funny thread. I have lost my head

All, Thanks for the great advice and recipes. Part of the problem, I know, is that my mother essentially starved to death. She had a wasting disease, two lung diseases, severe osteoporosis, and a floppy esophagus. Then she lost the ability to eat after her hip surgery and fought to get the NG feeding tube removed. After a…

Thanks, I will try some smoothies. Maybe I could stomach come light soup too so I will try that.

I love plain yogurt - plain. It is also great on burritos, in sauces, as a substitute for sour cream, blended with fruit, kale, protein powder. The uses are endless. On the other hand, I can't stand yogurt with pre-mixed with fruit. Bleech.

Ernest Moeran, String Quartet No. 1 in A minor, Mvmt 3. That steel plate in Moeran's head led to some phenomenal music.

Phenomenal! Keep up the slow work. Remember, both the turtle and the hare crossed the finish line.

Ditto! And no treats including fast food, candy, pastry, popcorn, chips, pop, etc. In my house dessert is something like cherries, watermelon or berries. Elimate the possibility of the 'favorite' foods and all of a sudden broccoli looks good. One time my 5 year old had a friend over for lunch. We had cheese cubes, a little…

You are - in the words of Jillian - Aspirational!

Better to eat the orange instead of drink the juice so you get fiber with the sugar. This will help slow down the absorption of the sugar.

I am on day 3 of my IF plan. I read a bunch on it and it seems reasonable and more importantly - doable. I get up at 5:00 am, so am assigning 11:00-7:00 as my eating hours. So far so good! Yesterday I was so focused on eating healthy during my eating hours that for the first time in a long time, I met my protein goals.

Holly buckets! Fantastic!

Well, technically 42 is the answer to the meaning of life

Rndomgirl. Thanks, fascinating. Im going to give it a try. My father-in-law fasts once a week for 24 hours and has been doing this for 50 or so years to decrease the effects of ankylosibg spondylitis, a severe arthritis of the spine. At almost 80 he still runs 5 miles a day, so it must be working. Thanks for the info.

Randomgirl, I am curious. Do you eat one meal a day because it helps keep you dedicated and focused on fitness, or is there a metabolic reason? Does eating once a day let your body process the food better? Or is it like the reasoning of the monks who eat one mindful meal a day?
