Get a digital scale with both ounces and grams display, then weigh everything you eat. You'll really learn that the portion is so you can track more accurately. Especially good with things like peanut butter and margarine. Put the container on the scale, turn it on, then serve yourself and the amount scooped out will…

Use the MFP to learn about yourself and what you're eating. Start by logging everything, and be honest and log even the treats like chocolate. If you're not meeting your goals, find healthier replacements that will reduce your kcal number. How you spend your kcal budget is a personal preference to reach your goals.…

This was my friends logic too, and reasonable average.

I'm questioning the day, because Monday are demotivating after seeing my good progress Mon-Friday with daily unofficial scale checks and then weekends ruin it. I like the thought of banking it on Friday or Saturday morning and using that as motivation over the next 48 hours.

You are lucky to have a supportive mum. I was glad to see you have a dietician to help you through this and are setting healthy goals. Your body needs the healthy food to keep your organs running. Best wishes to you and thank you for sharing your personal journey.:flowerforyou:

Simple explanation is when your weekly total of calories equal the total for the week with a couple days higher consuming the extra calories saved on the low days. Ths makes the zigzag instead of the flat 1200 calorie line. Use your own daily calorie goal in the combination, and don't go below 1000 calories on a given day.

bump... I would love to hear opinions on this myself.

I weigh myself once a day, first thing in the morning about the same time before any eating and drinking to get the most consistency. There will be fluctuations, but soon you'll learn more about your own personal patterns. Hang in there and don't be discouraged for an 'up' day.

Any of the soups, chili's is safe. The Margarita grilled chicken is really good.

I didn't but my girlfriend just got some. They're designed with arch support in addition to a thin sole. I'm not ready to try them myself.

Plan what you will eat for the day before it starts. Look at an online menu for the restaurant before heading out. There is a great app called Restaurant Nutrition by Unified Lifestyle that has most chains. Then I enter it in MFP if the item I chose is not already here. If I wind up at restaurant I hadn't planned, I look…

This is emotional eating, whether it's for celebration or stress related. It requires discipline to steer clear of it and give yourself another outlet. I remind myself what that splurge will cost me in terms of calories and think... Can I afford it? If I want chocolate that bad, a hershey kiss at 22 calories might do the…

Yum! Made it tonight, but used fat free cottage cheese and added a sprinkle of garlic powder and it still worked. Thanks for posting.

Yes, I fluctuate every day (under 2 lbs), and do weigh myself every day. I find that weighing myself every day helps me be aware of what is going in my body and sometimes I can adjust or learn about why I might be up the next day. Things to reflect on when you weigh yourself: - How much water did I drink yesterday? - How…
