  • Sorry for asking questions but I need more info to help properly! What sort of calorie range do you need to hit for your goals? 200g of protein on 1500, 3000 or 5000 calories is a different balancing act. Are you vegan or vegetarian, and food allergies? This gives a different range of foods to suggest
  • Check out VeganProteins on insta. She’s fab and a bodybuilding coach. I’m gluten free and vegan and manage 115-140g protein daily on 1500-1800 calories. Percentage wise, it’s usually less than 30% of total calories though - most vegan sources just come with more carbs but I worked out my macros based on grams and that’s a…
  • Vegan for 5 years, veggie my whole life. Lifting heavy since October, circuits with kettlebells and lighter weights for a couple of years before that. I’m also celiac, so supplement as recommended by my dietician with probiotics and a general multivitamin. I use protein powder daily to make porridge for breakfast as an…
  • You mentioned you were taking iron tablets. This can cause slower digestive transit or other digestive issues that can make you hold more water temporarily. If you’re taking this for anaemia it could be that you’re not being as active as you were - even if you’re getting a similar number of steps you might be moving more…
  • I’m vegan and celiac and manage to get 120-130g protein without supplements everyday and maintain a calorie deficit (current goal is weight loss). Being vegan cleared up my lifelong eczema within a month (I was raised vegetarian but apparently don’t deal well with dairy). Check out Vegan Proteins on YouTube/instagram.…
  • I have a Manduka (pro lite long) which I’ve used daily for 3.5 years and still looks brand new. The pro lite still has great padding but is lighter than the pro, and I got the long because I’m 6’2 and like the extra space :) I recommend it to everyone.
  • Happy Herbivore cook books are great, and she does meal plans that you can purchase as well. Minimalist Baker is fantastic! Pinterest is also great for ideas. I personally don’t connect to most of the vegan YouTube community as it can feel preachy or get bogged down in arguing over whether raw or no oil or high carb or ...…
  • I listen to so many podcasts! For health/weight loss I really like Rich Roll, Half Size Me, Shortcut to Slim (Lindsey Nixon), Flex your heart radio and Rise and Resist (now finished), and Foodist. I also like the Hilarious World of Depression. I used to listen to barbell shrugged, the Model Health Show and Ben Greenfield…
  • Yep! Check out Happy Herbivores group if you want to find more of us.
  • I am! Celiac (10 years), vegan (5 years) (veggie all my life before that). Check out the Happy Herbivores group if you haven’t already. Lots of good vegan gf/easily subbed recipes.
  • I find yoga has really helped me with affect regulation. By that I mean doing yoga regularly makes me feel good, makes me feel like I’m taking healthy steps to look after my body that has impacts off the mat. I make healthier food choices, am less likely to turn to food to soothe emotional issues and generally take better…
  • Fightmaster Yoga and The Journey Junkie all have fantastic beginner programmes. I started Fightmaster Yoga's Yoga Fix 90 having never done yoga before about halfway through my weight loss (about 35lbs of a 70lbs loss). Man was it intense and isn't one of her beginner programmes but it was exactly what I needed. I sweated…
  • I'm a coeliac vegan and have had a lot of fun actually with loads of plant-based recipes. I mostly scour vegan and gluten free blogs for inspiration and then adapt as needed. Also check out Pinterest (search for gluten free vegan). I'm really lucky to have a fab local cafe that has amazing gluten free vegan options that I…
