  • I fluctuate 5 pounds in a given week. If I exercise to the point where I am sore, my body retains extra water for a while. Any time I make any change, really, my body will gain weight (probably water) for a few days. When I got 'back on the wagon" I immediately GAINED weight, and muscle mass. The best thing you can do is…
  • Would love to be friends with women of similar (and dissimilar too!) stats. Here is me: Age 29 5'3" Highest Weight: 132 Current Weight: 116 Goal Weight : 110-112
  • I'm 5'3", 116 lbs and look okay in clothes... I have fat thighs and an unshapely, smooshy butt. Weightlifting is giving me a better shape in general, but I have more fat to lose. I am guessing that I should probably be around 110-112lbs or so to achieve the look I want.
  • I'd like to get my waist to 24 inches and my hips to 33-34. I current have a 25' waist and 35' hips at the widest. I've got a small frame with easily a large handful of fat on my stomach and butt that can thin out a bit. that being said, I wouldn't mind a bigger booty, if it was a firm one. :)
  • If you are concerned - look up how many calories it burns for your body to create all that new blood. You need to take care of yourself after giving blood, so listen to your body and don't sweat it too much. To get energy ad sugars, maybe stick with fruit and juice, or healthy grains instead of eating a cookie or crackers.
  • 5'3" reporting in. Down to my last 5 "vanity" pounds; considering gaining weight in muscle to help get out of 'skinny fat' territory. SW: 133 CW: 111 I'm hoping to get tested again in the Bod Pod to make sure the last few pounds are safe to lose.
  • I have it in my head that shorts look bad on 95% or women, and even the 5% would probably look better in a skirt. But shorts are highly practical, especially for fitness stuff. I would just adopt it as the 'uniform' of warm weather exercise and try to block fashion or aesthetics out of my mind. If I am wondering if my…
  • I drink coffee, and start my day with gummy vitamins and calcium chews. I try to avoid a lot of starch, and seek out veggies and protein for meals. For snacks, I am fond of fruits and seaweed/nori sheets - or jerky. I eat a lot of jerky. I don't deny myself anything apart from a second serving. Generally I have enough…
  • 5'3". I thought my goal would be 115 lbs... but now I'm thinking that it may be more like 110 lbs. I've dropped from 133 to 117 ish and I've got the whole skinny-fat thing going. Since I'm somewhat lazy and work out inconsistently, I'll allow my dieting to drop me a bit further. If I get active and muscular, I don't mind…
  • I'm scared of calorie jumps too; but if you are serious about lifting, you will likely need to scale up your cals. I do 1200 on a low-fitness day, and 1500 on days where I get a good lift / workout in. Maybe read the New Rules of Weight Lifting for Women, if you need some reassurance and research into how much you should…
  • There is no real 'true value,' since it is normal to have some food, water, and waste in your system at any given time which can cause your weight to fluctuate. My favorite time to weigh myself is first thing after I pee on Wednesday mornings. It give me time to recover from any weekend events, and get back to my normal…
  • I've changed my macros to 40/30/30 and have been pretty good about eating a lot of protein. I know I will need to eat more to gain muscle, but I'm nervous about suddenly eating more until I figure out what strength training means for me. Do you log strength training into MFP?
  • This probably is a stupid question - how long is a normal strength training session? If I am doing body weight exercises, do I do them for 30 mins? An hour? Until I'm sore?
  • 5'3" 26 years old CW: 121.5 GW: 115 Feel free to add me. :)
  • All of the above. My face slimmed down first when I started losing weight. Keep at it and you should slim down all over. It may take a while to see progress in your 'worst' areas, but they should all be slowly going down. :)
  • Since I've played around with enough sports/programs/videos to find a few things that I like. Now that I can make it through most regimens without heaving and feel stronger, I'm starting to like them.
  • I have loss and toning to do. T-T Your progress looks great! I didn't realize how much weight I had until it suddenly got really loose on me. I've made some progress - the keg belly now has rolls.... but it just highlights how much more work I will have to do.
  • If its a 'walk to work' day, I'll get in 6-7 miles. If not.. barely 2-3.
  • 5'3" (and then some) SW: 133 lbs CW: 123 lbs B: ? W: 26.25" H: 36.25" I still have some inches to lose, but I've made good progress!
  • Wow, looking good! You can see a big change!
  • You may be gaining lean muscle mass (a good thing)! Forget about the scale, and pull out a measuring tape to see if you are dropping inches.
  • I'm probably guilty too! I mean it in a nice way; but the effect is the same. I want my friends to know I see them as beautiful, but I also want to let them know that I will support them in their (healthy) fitness goals. :)
  • Not sure about my goal weight. I'm throwing 115 out there - but really my goal is to have a respectable stomach and thighs. I wouldn't mind staying at 123lbs if I become a ball of liquid muscle! Just pinching and eyeballing the fat areas I have left, I 'd like to lose 8 lbs of fat.

  • I chew crushed ice and drink a lot of water. Be careful not to bite into hard ice though, bad for your teeth!
  • I stretched and did 10 minutes of exercise this morning. I admitted stopped when I got to burpies - but is was a breakthrough nonetheless!
  • Getting rid of a lot of bread/pasta - whether it is altogether or just halving the portion. I always cook pasta separate from the sauce, so I can eat only a little bit. If I'm still hungry, I will eat a fried egg in the sauce (like eggs in purgatory). I stopped buying a lot of juice, since I have a proclivity to drink a…
  • I workout at home. Lots of exercise DVDs and YouTube videos. I have a gym membership but it would be harder to fit it into my day.
  • 26 here in California. I'd love more support / MPF friends. It seems that most of my MFP friends are from different timezones!
