  • no, I have a starting weight that is above my current weight. When I lose weight, on the progress it shows how much I've lost for 1 week not since starting weight. I want to see since starting weight so I manually switch it each time but I want to know how to make it default to starting weight instead of 1 week.
  • Your workout should include a combination of strength training, cardio and flexibility. I don't like going to the gym and working out at home fits into my schedule best. I enjoy doing home DVD workout programs that incorporate all of these because the calendar makes sure that I do a balanced workout routine overall but…
  • Chocolate Shakeology with 1/2 banana, 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk blended with ice. I have some variation of this everyday...quick, healthy and easy!
  • Herbalife is not a Beachbody product.
  • Awesome advice! Thanks so much!!
  • The only part of her body you can really see are her abs so I'm guessing that's what you mean. The saying is true, Abs are made in the kitchen so clean up the nutrition first. I find that white carbs, fried foods and alcohol show up in my midsection the most...tend to make me look more puffy so cut those out and focus on…
  • I'm 5'4: and usually weigh around 142 and wear a size 4 or 6 depending on the brand. I exercise a lot so I've got quite a bit of muscle and my body fat is usually around 20-21%. In shirts usually a small but if it's fitted sometimes a med to make a little extra room for "the girls". I used to weigh a lot less to be this…
  • I run alone all the time in the morning but I also know that in my neighborhood there are a lot of people out running, walking, etc. and I feel safe. I also use my iphone for music so I do have a phone with me in case of emergency but I've honestly never felt threatened at all.
  • I'm not in my 40's but I'm 51 so I totally get the topic! :) I'm actually in better shape now than I was when I was younger but it does get harder to lose weight as you get older and your metabolism slows down. I have to be more careful than I used to be about those "cheats" LOL!
  • I never skip exercise unless I'm sick and only then only if I'm running a fever. During that time of the month, it's business as usual as far as workouts.
  • You absolutely need to go to a reputable running store and get fitted for shoes. They should watch you run and if you've been running, take your old shoes so they can look at the wear on them. This is the most important investment you can make if you want to be a runner. The wrong shoes can lead to all kinds of problems…
  • Cardio works your heart and lungs to keep those healthy, strength training works your other muscles to keep those strong. Flexibility training keeps you flexible and helps prevent injury. You need to include a good balance of all three in your training plan to be healthy, lose weight and have long term fitness.
  • BTW, don't you love T25? I did it right after it came out and one of my friends has lost over 50 lbs doing it. I think my husband is finally ready to start it. :)

  • That's exactly what I do. I wear a HRM and get my calories burned and just enter them manually. I do that even for exercises that are listed in MFP because different people burn different calories for the same exercise based on gender, age and size. Sometimes I'll have friends going workouts that I have and they don't have…

  • Sometimes in your weight loss journey, you will hit a plateau and it appears that you aren't making any progress because the scale isn't moving. Do you take measurements? Sometimes when they scale isn't moving, you are losing inches. The key to losing weight and getting fit and healthy is consistency. Even if you aren't…
  • I've tried quite a few and Shakeology is still my favorite.
  • Also, the contacts on the chest strap have to be wet so just run it under water a few seconds before you attach the sensor and put it on.
  • Yes, the Polar HRMs need the chest strap. The sensor is attached to the chest strap. The wrist band is just the display and controls.
  • Very common...happens when I walk but not when I run. I think it's because my hands just dangle down by my side. If I raise my hands above my heart for awhile it helps so I think it's blood pooling in my hands. When I run, I keep my hands up about chest high and move my arms so think that's why it doesn't happen when I run.

  • Yes, I would just make sure that you are doing a combination of cardio and strength training. Also, your strength training can help your speed as some of the other posts said by strengthening your legs. I do think cutting out cardio will make your speed suffer though because your endurance will be reduced.
  • You can lose weight by just cutting calories but you can't get healthy unless you eat the right calories. Also, healthy food generally has less calories for a larger serving so you get more food which makes it easier because you aren't as hungry. I see a lot of people trying to get by on tiny servings of junk food just…
  • First of all, congratulations to you for having the courage to admit you have a problem. I agree that you should see a doctor for help - one who specializes in nutrition. I hesitate to give advice but I'll give a little assuming that you are also going to see a doctor. :) Are you getting any exercise? You have most likely…
  • It's a personal decision whether to eliminate artificial sweeteners or not. Personally, I eliminated all artificial sweeteners and carbonated drinks about 2 1/2 years ago and have felt so much better. I don't like the possibility of what they could be doing to my body long term. I also lost 35 lbs but I also made other…
  • I'm at this point now myself...I've always been in pretty good shape and have done intense workouts but running has been my Everest lol. Just couldn't get there for some reason. I started running in late April and it was honestly the first time I could run 2 miles straight without taking walk breaks. Now I have done up to…
  • I agree, T25 is a great workout for all levels because you can start out following the modifier and move up to doing the moves at a more advanced level as you progress.
  • Good for you for standing up for her!
  • Aren't you just proving the fact because you brought it up again on this post?
  • Summer, you can see that I've also been just hammered over one mistake I made and I've only been on here for two days. I've answered over and over again that it was a mistake because I didn't know the rules but anytime I post somebody says something about the fact that I broke an advertising rule. I guess it's to discredit…
