I am staring Jul 10 th for the ING Rock and Roll Half Marathon in Philly on September 18. 10 weeks is a short training period, but this will be my 4th Half, so I am comfortable with it. First timers should train a minimum of 12 weeks and maybe even 14 weeks.

Option 3: Make sure the sneakers you purchased are right for you. When I first starting running, I had the same issues as you. I din't know that the type of sneakerswer etaht important. BTW, I would hate for the end of the world to come and only have 16 friends (I recently joined) on myfitnesspal..... Add me as a friend if you like. I'm a great addition to your friend base. I am funny, supportive and I don't bite.

Oh and I forgot to mention, the same group predicted the end of the world back in 1988. So far they are batting .000. If they miss this coming Saturday, then I would reccomend them getting out of the "End of the World Prediction" Business........

I am not doing the Harrisburg race, but am running the Philly Rock n Roll Half the following weekend so we will pretty much be on the same training schedule. I have run a bunch of Half Marathons. The training schedule you have is pretty standard and I think i sthe first one I had used when I ran my first race. Good luck!
