I do OMAD 4 days a week and 10a-6p the other days. I am a "dirty" faster. I start my day with a glass of hot water with ACV and cinnamon/ginger in it. Then I will have some black coffee with cinnamon and a pinch of pink himilayan salt. From then on it's water with lemon juice in it. Keeps my hunger at bay and my…

I've been doing IF for about 7 mths now. I've had success in the weight department, but also just feel amazing. I know this is an older thread, but I am new to this group. Anyone still doing it?

Meal prepping is huge. Like someone already said, washing, slicing and portioning fruits and veggies right away is a great trick. Food swapping is another great tip. For instance, adding some roasted garlic hummus and plain greek yogurt to mashed potatoes instead of butter/milk. Roasted red pepper hummus instead of mayo in…

Keep it simple girl! If it's not sustainable, it doesn't matter. While calories in, calories out is important, the quality of calories is too. I follow the 80/20 rule. 80% of my diet is real, whole foods. 20% is reserved for whatever. This helps me not binge. By telling myself that I can, pretty much eat whatever I want in…

Mine is open, I think to public. I like it open, it helps me stay mindful. I don't think anyone does, but knowing that they can, helps me be more mindful. I like to look at others for ideas, as well.

Hence the reason, I said research. There are tons of clinical studies and science to back this. Agree or disagree, that is your right. Again, research what works for you. Have a great day.

Oats are a healthy, whole grain, whole food. I use a food processor and make oat flour out of oats. I also love over night oats, various mix ins. A very cheap and versatile food staple in my kitchen.

It would depend on the type of hypothyroidism you have. If yours is acquired, than there is a chance of reversal and thus not needing medications. This can only be done through close monitoring with your physician. Now, if it is auto-immune, there is no reversing. It is life-long. If you are unsure what type you have, you…

No one seemed to notice, or at least no one mentioned my weight loss until I reached 30 lbs lost, which is only 10lbs from my goal weight. Slow and steady is more likely to equate to life-long. So just keep on keepin' on ;)

I have been doing some form of IF (16/8-20/4 depending on whatever life has going on) for 7 mths. Life-changing for me! Not only have I lost weight and inches, but I feel amazing. My inflammation is gone. I have more energy than I can remember. I just feel young and vibrant, a feeling I haven't had in 13 yrs! I do OMAD 3-4…

Do some research on Intermittent fasting. It has been a life-changer for me and my Hashimoto's. https://stoughtonhealth.com/wp-content/uploads/Living-an-intermittent-fasting-lifestyle-presentation-7.15.2020.pdf

Love Virtuals! One of my proudest moments for me.

It was not one specific study, it was several, I was just trying to share one. I am having success using IF, the recent science is promising was all I was trying to say. If you don't agree or it's not for you, fine. Just sharing my personal experience. Have a great day.

I did not refer to Jason Fung's books. I have never even read his books.

It was the wrong link, my bad. No need to get snarky. Most of my info was from medical journals, which I subscribe to and apparently you can't read unless you do.

I have been IF 16:8 for 21 days now. I feel amazing! My energy levels are up. My weight is down. My inflammation is down. Many non-scale victories! I have been pleased by the changes I see and feel. I am a nurse so evidence based is my thing. I have done a ton of research before I started. This is just one of many evidence…

Powder or Dry shampoo work ok, I personally don't like them Here is a recipe for an all natural hair refresher mist: Ingredients: • 1 teaspoon cherry extract • 1 teaspoon almond extract • 1 teaspoon lemon juice • 2 cups water Directions: 1. Mix all ingredients together and pour into a spray bottle; 2. Shake well before…

Because my weight loss is based on calories in vs calories burned. Also my goal is a high protein, high fiber diet. Sugars is not my issue. It's just one of those personal preference things and just finding what works for each individual. Unfortunately weight loss is not a one way fits all, it'd be nice, but it just isn't.

I read yours!! Admittedly I have no idea what some of the things you consume are! :ohwell: Hey if a little Vodka now and again keeps you sane then :drinker:

Oh I know! I have learned so many lovely recipes and food options from other's diary.

First of all, Congrats for taking charge of your own life!!!! I can see why some people choose to keep their diaries private. I have never had a negative comment, ever. Just the other day one of my MFP friends commented on my cheat day with "Not a very healthy day, but congrats for sticking with it and being honest :)" I'm…

Oh I know, my hubby eats like sh** and doesn't do an ounce of exercise (outside of his physical job, mine's physical too!) and is ripped, I mean chiseled!! WTF?!?!?! LOL

I couldn't agree more! I am a former "skinny *****". I have ALWAYS been active and healthy and skinny, even after 4 children. Then about 4 yrs ago, I developed Hypothyroid that went undiagnosed for almost 2 1/2 yrs. Now I have to work and HARD to lose and maintain my body! My lifestyle never changed but boy did my body. I…

Congrats to your friend! That's awesome. I'm all for whatever works for someone personally. Oh and boy do I ever hear ya on the alcohol! That can really screw up a healthy day!!! LOL
-
Me too! I love it....you cheater!!! LOL (I just might have to steal that idea, on a really bad day!!!) LOL

See, this is what I'm talking about. NOT congratulating someone because they MIGHT not have done it the way YOU would have?? I just don't get it. :( [/quote] For me personally, it's not even about "my way". If someone only had a banana ALL day, then I'm sorry I am not congradulating you for starving yourself. I am also not…
