Calibrate it!

I loved my Garmin's that I've used in the past. I had to quit running for awhile and gave my Garmin away. I picked up running (lower mileage) and I just use my iWatch. I don't run ultras any longer, so I don't need 24hr battery life. It's not as good as a dedicated Garmin, but it does soooo much more in other areas that…

Try the Treadmill Doctor site. Good luck!

Happy. I never post on these things, but I had to see what people would say about my profile pic. ;)

Thank you! I've been looking, but have yet to find, the selfie I took with Ralph Gracie at his tournament in Virginia back in the day. He's got some ears!

Hello to all. My name is Don. I'm 52 years old. I recently started martial arts (BJJ) again after a 17 year layoff. I was one of Carlos Machado's first students in Dallas (1996-2000). It was a blast. We trained on the set of Walker Texas Ranger, then we ended up a health club where we laid wrestling mats down in the…

Friend requests sent you you all. :)

Got it! Thank you. I'm just getting back into it after a long layoff. I'll PM you.

My heart rate strap will sometimes give wonky numbers. Usually though it's when I first start running. It may shoot up to 176 or something when I know it's more like 110. It will after a bit settle down. If you take your pulse at your carotid artery, does it reflect a 76? If so, get it checked out. If reads much higher,…

11 miles in the heat today. Got hot and wimped out. :(

10 miles.

3 miles. It looks like I'm going to my June goal. By maybe 8 billion miles!

I would recommend what others have said (tracking mileage) and also to not wear your running shoes unless you are actually running. When you retire them, you can wear them to the gym. How long a shoe lasts depends on many factors. The construction of the shoe and the qualities of it's materials, the weight of the runner,…

2 junk miles!

Ten miles yesterday.

6 miles today.

I'm on the fence. I totally believe in the health benefits of the LCHF lifestyle, but full blown keto may not work well for my weekend long runs. I can stay below 25g/day during the week and go to 10 miles. But if I try 20 miles (or more) fasted, I don't know. It's not working. I can experiment some more. Perhaps I'm not…

11 miles. Someone was kind enough to take a picture of me while on the track for the first part of my run.

8 miles.

I'm feeling exhausted and I was sorely tempted to blow off my 8 mile run. I'm tired! It's still 90 degrees at 7:30PM! I just want to chill and then go to bed! But I was weirdly forced to eat more carbs than I wanted to at lunch today (long story - don't ask!) and your message gave me the motivation I needed to go hit the…

4 miles today!

OK thank you all! I get it now. :)

OK, I'm in for 180 miles in June. I don't see a way to add the ticker to an automatic signature for the ticker. Are you supposed to manually add it each time you come here to report your miles? Also, is there a spreadsheet to update, or do we just check in and say "5 miles" or whatever. Sorry to be so dense!
-
Agreed.

Many use Garmin Connect, but don't do anything socially there. We do have a Strava group though. Join Strava (it's free) and you can have it automatically import your runs from GC. After joining Strava, request to join our group. https://www.strava.com/clubs/myfitnesspalclub

OK, excuse me for being dense. But if net carbs are really what we need to be looking at it, why would we want to remove them from view? It would seem it would be better to remove the carb, and leave net carb. Or just display net carb and call it carb. What am I missing? I appreciate your hard work!
