  • I agree with all of this. I laughed so hard about, "becoming a healthcare overlord!!" It's so true. Some of my co-workers have been in healthcare for 30+ yrs and they have seen how it has gone from, all about quality patient care to, all about the pennies. Very sad. You are right, I totally forgot about if the other…
  • Please do your homework on this. I left the computer field almost 10 years ago to get my bachelors in imaging. Not sure where the high demand and growth are, but I haven't seen it. Hospitals are taking advantage of healthcare workers. The administrative explotation isn't relegated just to nurses. Sure you may find a job,…

  • Fresh applesauce (sometimes with cinnamon too.) I also use it to make my sauce for gluten free, dairy free Cheesy Kale Chips in the dehydrator.
  • Feel free to add me as a fellow Lymie as well. Dx in Nov 2015 (and recently Epstein Barr) after many, many years of health sliding down hill. Since exercise is non existant for me now, I try to maintain with diet until things get better.
  • I'd like to know what luluinca asked as well. And can being at a deficit too long hinder progress? Measure all food, got a Fitbit, follow IIFYM, no metabolic issues, no weight loss for over a year. Over 2 yrs, I've changed my deficit from large to small, small to large. Recently, I've thrown the towel in and working my way…

  • I've never had a problem reheating as long as I reduce the power and don't cook them too long.
  • I do this too, lol!
  • Depends how much fat you want. Sometimes I do a 1tbsp of butter and 1 tbsp of coconut oil. Other times I do 2 tbsp of each.
  • I just tried Glutino Multiseed English Muffins. Soooo much better than their regular english muffins. I think I even like them better than the Food For Life Multiseed. (I found them too dense and sometimes gummy.)
  • My Staffordshire (in my ticker) eats a raw diet. When I got sick and had to go gluten free, I figured - if I can't eat it, why would I give it to my pet? He's been on it since he was a year old and has no problems. His coat is nice and shiny, his mouth doesn't stink, his teeth are nice and white. He rarely has gas, and the…

  • from http://family.go.com/food/recipe-an-798481-roasted-brussels-sprouts-with-apples-and-bacon-t/ 1 pound brussel sprouts 3 slices thick-cut uncured bacon, cut into one-inch pieces 1 medium onion, cut into medium dice 2 small firm red apples (such as roma), cored and chopped 2 tablespoons melted butter 1 tablespoon maple…
  • ^^ Not happy about that either. Not impressed with their "Magic Pudding." I can make my own "magic" by just reducing the liquid with the protein powder, let it sit in the fridge a bit and get pudding....for less money/product too and no Carrageenan crap that angers my intestines.
  • To add to the above.... Wondering if you are eating too much goitrogenic foods: cabbage, kale, brussel sprouts, spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, etc. They compete with iodine absorption, causing thyroid disruption/hormone imbalances. (Especially if you are eating most of these raw.

  • I inject radioactive material into people.
  • Thanks! I found it http://www.premiumgoldflax.com/recipe_glutenfreesandwichbreadmaker.php (if anyone else was interested) Next time I'm in Costco, I will have to see if they carry the brand. I really want to be able to find a good homemade gf bread. Crossing fingers this is it :-)
  • Sounds good! Wish I had a stand mixer. I have a bread machine and made Gluten Free Pantry's Favorite Sandwich Bread and French Bread mixes. Both tasted pretty good when they were still warm. They were terrible in taste and texture after that! Wonder if this would work in a bread machine?
  • I switched to cider (as of now, Strongbow is in the lead) since I wasn't a fan of any GF beers I've tried. Even the ciders can be too sweet and I can only have a couple. So, I rarely drink now
  • I have the same problem. My numbers are down in the dumps. I think it was 8 or 9 last time I was tested. I was on prescription D and will need to do another round, but not that enthusiastic about going back to the Dr. I did get a 10,000 iu D3 by Solgar that I take a few times a week (as well as the cal-mag-zinc, etc.) I…

  • Yes, this. And don't forget travel time. It will take 6-7 hr flight from UK to Boston/NYC vs 10-11 hrs to LA (and that's IF it's a direct flight.) Good news is, it will be a bit shorter going back to the UK though, lol!
  • New England! Very nice in the summer. Boston has loads of history (and good food.) I've been to London and you will feel right at home, the cities are similar (obviously, lol!) Drive an hour or two North and you can be in Lakes Region or White Mountains of New Hampshire. To the East you can be in Maine and shop at the…
  • VERY disappointed with Trutein recently. They rebranded and have reduced their 5 lb tubs to 4 lbs, for more money :explode: .
  • Has she tried different brands of coconut water? I've found I don't like Vita-Coco. It has sugar from fruit and I think it tastes "off." Also, I've noticed anything not in a glass or paper carton tastes funny too. Like Rosplosion mentioned, Taste Nirvana tastes terrific and is my favorite. Harmless Harvest and Amy & Brian…

  • HA! I remember selling these as a Girl Scout and I still remember the taste of all of them. Man, I miss these, especially cold Thin Mints   Damn you gluten!!
  • I like unsweetened (plain or vanilla) Silk Almond. Silk brand does not have Carrageenan in it. For me, that stuff gives me IBS symptoms, especially if it's in ice cream :-(
  • ^^ This. Still working on my back issues. I also swim and do yoga. I like this 20 min yoga for the back video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvOBVb-15OA
  • I had Anne Burn's, "CAKE MIX DOCTOR," before I had to ditch gluten and loved that book! I was going to try to use the gf cake mixes with the original book, but I'm thrilled she made a gluten free version! I made her GF yellow cake with caramel frosting for my guy's b'day, mmmmmm  !!
  • I'll have to try those! I've tried Glutino English Muffins and they tasted very corny (lol!) Oh, how I miss some Irish food!! Black and white pudding, sausage, brown bread, treacle sponge pudding..... All off limits now
