  • Everyone has pretty much suggested everything I would have. Exercise, logging are important. Are you getting good quality sleep? That can also mess with your body.
  • Look I did the same thing when I started MFP. I had a sedentary job. I'm 5ft 3inches and started at 165lbs. I would more often than not go under 1000 calories a day. Life was great. I dropped the weight like a rock. Now if you want to look like me with arthritis and osteoporosis, and zero muscles, I really wouldn't…
  • A celery stick dipped in Stevia. Oh wait that might be 1 calorie. Let me think on this a bit more.
  • My starting weight was 165lbs. I'm 5ft 3". I was told on MFP to do 1200 calories. This was a few years back. So after a few weeks and nearly stabbing various family members I upped my calories to 1650. That worked out a lot better. Current weight 118lbs.....I'm still only 5ft 3" though, which is very frustrating!!
  • Revels candy, chocolate eclairs candies, Lord Toffingham ice cream bar, walnut whips, fried bread with egg, shepherds pie.
  • Sockeye salmon, purple sweet potato fries and green peas.
  • I understand your frustration. I was going through exactly the same feelings. This may sound silly, but after months of not seeing the scale move I made a decision. I knew that I was feeling better with the foods I was consuming, so I just stopped weighing myself. I continued weighing my foods on a daily basis. I made a…
  • That's too friggin funny!!
  • I drink quite a lot of green tea. I stopped drinking coffee mainly because I didn't enjoy it without the creamer. I did lose some weight, but it was something that took a while to get used to, as coffee is so delicious. But like most will tell you, it's really important to weigh everything.
  • I found that I couldn't handle cutting out creamer by substituting with milk, so cut out coffee completely. I now drink assorted green teas. My favorite is Ginger green tea. It is great for my Crohn's.
  • I have lost nearly 50lbs over a year and a half. How long being overweight?? Well probably after I had my daughter which was 37 years ago. I wasn't huge just a bit "floppy". I was a young mother. I went on the usual fad diets after childbirth which never lasted for more then a couple of weeks. When I was in the restaurant…
  • Yes not too worried about putting on a few pounds. I just don't want to look like I'm ill. It gets a bit upsetting when my husband tells me I don't look well.
  • My muscles are not existent. I look anorexic to be honest, which was not a look I was anticipating. I do try weights but have extreme difficulty as I am so weak
  • I go to my doctors every 3 months. For repeat prescriptions and have blood work done every 6 months. My husband is right, I don't look healthy. I enjoy the foods I eat a lot more now, then when I was eating junk food. I don't know maybe I just gotta live with being this way. I'm not a spring chicken anymore
  • It took quite a while to lose the weight. At first I didn't lose any for about 6 months. I was not weighing food, and not exercising so as soon as I started being accountable, then the weight came off. I would say a year and a half to lose the weight.
  • Blamed it on menopause. But in reality I was just lazy. I would avoid mirrors at all costs. Finally got sick of telling myself how ugly I was and did something about it.
  • You are exactly the same weight that I was when I joined MFP, I'm a couple of inches shorter though. It has taken a while to get where I am....but now realize it is not a race. Just make sure you get yourself a food scale. I slipped up quite a few times but tried not to kick myself too much. Good luck to you.
  • I like Jaime Olivers Asparagus soup recipe. I do dink around with the seasonings a bit though.
  • Yes I have lost weight. I am 5ft 3 and at my top weight I was 165lbs. I am now 117lbs which is great.....however the down side is I have a lot of loose skin. It hangs off my arms and have lots of crepe skin even on my legs. My husband wants me to put some weight back on.
  • Thank you. I figured it had to be as simple as weighing, but wanted to be sure.
  • Sockeye salmon poached in miso. Or just baked with lemon pepper.
