  • I was told today that there was a discussion in the office about me. apparently started with: 'Have you noticed Ian's changed recently, got this whole new style going on' 'Yes think he's training cause his skin is really good...' 'Got a Roger Moore vibe going on' (that might be the best thing anyone's ever said about me...…
  • Thanks TavistockToad. Been intermittent fasting for 9 months now and only adopted healthy adjustments. Totally agree in staying away from crash diets, it's all long term lifestyle changes for me. Taken 2 years to get from 92kg to 75kg as i had hit one bump in the middle. I'll look at what recomp is, thanks.
  • Hello 2019 it's time to get lean. Today, the 01 January 2019 I woke having achieved my phase 1 target. At 74.8kg with a little help from a liquid 31 Dec 2018, green tea, protein shakes and water...along with an early morning grapefruit to cleanse the system I have no words... Phase 1 - drop from 92kg to below 75kg -…
  • This is too funny. I do love trolls. if for a moment i pretended you are genuine and serious about this... just for fun... 1. Why would she respect your rules when you are disrespectingher choices (remembering that she can drink, own a gun, drive, chose a religon, vote, etc etc). My rule is everyone is welcome until they…
  • The body does funny things to stress and if you are aiming to be at the bottom of the normal line then as others aid your body might grab anything else and hold on to it. The one thing i do have to say to myself, and i have these bumps a long the road is what do i want more...the wild road trip with friends eating haribos…
  • A friend phoned me yesterday for advice on how to lose weight, she was complaining of chunky thighs..although like you she looks great...but its her view like yours thats important... We talked about her recent use of coconut oil in food and her increases in the fibre and protein and perhaps she should change these...but…
  • Personally i think you should tell him... - you've waited and not rushed in, which is great... - however if you are saying i love him but only if he says he loves me, or i love him but he needs to say it first...then to be honest that sounds like a condition or a game. - guys don't like this game playing either Just be…
  • I eat whole grapefruit, then 3-4 eggs (scrambled or poached) Little block of cheese and vine tomatoes.
  • Yeah, i'd grab a yoga day though, as i've been trying to give up pole dancing.
  • If I said to you "I eat too many M&Ms but it fills me up" what would you say and think? I think its more an excuse and looking for someone else to help justify or defend your choice. Carbonated drinks add additional gas (carbonic acid) to your stomach which causes all sorts of issues. The diet element is achieved by…
  • I start with a grapefruit, then shower and then have 3-4 scrambled eggs with tomatoes and cheese
  • Hi I'm Ian from England. I would be grateful for a couple more elite friends.
  • Totally agree with Ninerbuff, habit and self discipline, what do you want more?! I would suggest a few things - Try making it a 10 day challenge; When you feel like a snack brush your teeth or drink a glass of water; Get rid of the temptations in the house and put in good snacks - like HStheBusyBee suggests - prep fruit or…
  • I'm currently swimming 1km 3 days a week in the form of drills, with one longer slow swim at the weekend. I started off doing 500m backstroke and slowly mixed in freestyle and breaststroke, and added distance. I started with backstroke just to get me back in the water for a longer period without stopping, and because i…
  • Honestly 8+ but it is only one aspect and the number is not for the reasons the stereotype might think though. Like others have said its only one part of attraction. 'In shape' to me means something very different than 'hottest person in the room' My reasoning: 1. I have chosen to live a healthy life style, i am in shape…
  • When you enter your exercise it will record the cals burned from your exercise and that will give you the choice of consuming more cals for that day to feed the training work...its up to you how much of the calories burnt on a training day you 'eat' or leave as an additional negative.
  • 1 lb a week is good, and yes you can get to 2 lbs a week but I would be pleased with the 5inch loss. There is not a lot of detail to help in your post but if you are training, you might ave also put on muscle weight while burning fat. If you are drinking a lot and have a good fibre intake you might also be losing water…
  • I prefer to train in the morning before i've eaten, its actually a good thing, based on lots of research, to eat on an empty stomach first thing...still important to have a glass of water as you wake (room temperature) and important to eat quickly after training. Also its important to listen to your body as lots of people…
  • Personally I love the 1 lb = 3500 cals. For me I mix deficit and exercise to achieve it and I'm really glad it motivated you, just don't take it all in exercise, mix it up a little.
  • Yoga +1 ...all the way...its slow methodical and will give you a stronger core while improving balance, which will help with so many other co-ordination activities
  • I'm swimming 50 laps a day and its helping loads. Ideally if you can swim all 4 strokes in a medley routine...however if not make sure you do backstroke as atleast 25% of your swim...really good for tightening the stomach...and sorting the mobile/laptop hunch
  • Brian - deal - I like both ideas...the swim and the slow 10k (everything i'm reading is saying the longer slow runs will help more so going to do a long slow run each week) and like you say...keep running
  • I can swim fine for an hour and riding is no issue. I'll ease up and let my lungs breath..google is alleging that's what lungs are supposed to do...conspiracy :) Thats really cool to read 20yearsyounger, my strength was finishing with a strong run and swimming was my bane...but its flipped. Awesome to see its become your…
  • Thank you everyone for all your advice and tips...taking it all and forging a plan. My '5km youth time/glory day' was 18.24 so I have tempered this to only aiming to get below 30mins. I've been running (working on for 3 months) which is where my frustration is coming in, and i've been doing inclines, intervals. The issue…
  • Welcome, great decision and you are at the right place. Everything you need and a little madness thrown in to make you smile on the journey.
  • She replaced her beautiful nose with a logo. Ps for those of you that are interested, her nose and I lived happily ever after.
