  • PCOS here too, so feel free to add me! I personally find my body responds/feels best when I stick to mostly low carb (but I still love tacos and beer lol). Down almost 45lbs ... though I've been working on that a few years. Slow and steady but that's ok  We'll get there!
  • I have PCOS and suffer from PMDD prior to my period. About 2 weeks before I get severe anxiety and depression for up to a few days. Feel free to friend me  The last couple of months I've added Vitex to my supplement regimen, and I have noticed a HUGE difference this month! Of course supplements don't work for…
  • This is a great point! ^ Also one thing that makes a difference for me is getting enough water and salt. Making sure my salt is where it should be has made all the difference.
  • I'm glad to see this thread. I used to donate blood regularly, but haven't in a long time due to my work schedule and not being able to find a drive that worked for me. So, I started donating plasma because I could make that work (also my dad had a stroke in Nov. and the neuro ICU nurse let me know they utilize plasma up…
  • Yes and no. I definitely had a pretty serious binge problem, and I began tracking because I felt like I needed more control. One thing that has really helped me was arranging my macros in a way to combat cravings and keep me satisfied hunger wise. HOWEVER, binge problems often stem from deeper issues. Finding ways to…
  • PCOS & IR here too. Feel free to friend me. :)
  • Sometimes this is true, but not always the case. Binges can be driven by a number of other factors as well and have nothing to do with the actual food in question. Do you generally have binge tendencies OP? I do myself, and I totally understand the feeling of not having control of the situation. My last big binge was the…
  • I was diagnosed with PCOS at about 18 (33now). I discovered keto before it was a fad (thank goodness!) but wasn't disciplined enough and didn't stick with it. The beginning of the year I cracked down more and have been fairly consistent since. Feel free to friend me :)
  • I've actually been looking into those compact collapsible food scales that I can just fit in my bag and bring with me. I already have measuring spoons/cups at work and everyone knows I track my food, so no biggie. :) Even if they didn't, I'd still not worry about it.
  • 10/01: 188 10/09: 186.2 10/16: 186.8 ... Too lenient over the weekend. I was 184.4 on Friday :/
  • Yeah, as suggested above I'm guessing its whatever sugar alcohol is in it. I'm keto too, but I stay away from all Atkins products. I took one look at the ingredient list and was like nope!
  • Me too!!! I have an entire drawer for n my fridge dedicated to cheese
  • Great suggestion! I actually weigh daily for that reason. Seeing fluctuations shows me what's slowing my loss and what's working. Weekends were a HUGE problem and now I'm working to correct that. :)
  • I need to try this :)
  • 10/01: 188 10/09: 186.2 :)
  • Yeah I definitely tell people. All my closest people are aware and most of them are extremely supportive. People I don't know as well I only mention if it comes up in conversation or they ask. I have nothing to hide, and if it makes anyone uncomfortable because they're not supportive .... well, that's not my issue and it…
  • I'll hop in as well :) I'm aiming for a 5lb loss this month though I foresee challenges ... 2 weddings and a bridal shower/bachelorette party :s 10/01: 188lbs
  • I actually found different skin care. I used to always use acne targeted products but I discovered that was making my skin worse because my skin was too sensitive. I switched to using L'Bri which is an aloe based skin care line. My skin loves it and cleared up fairly quickly. I don't sell L'Bri myself but I could get you…
  • I got back into ketosis in January and didn't break it for a good couple of months. Now that I think about it, there was a HUGE difference in comparison to past winters. With cold weather creeping in, I definitely need to keep this in mind. :)
  • I use Spironolactone and have for a while. I love it and have had no issues. My acne had cleared up before I went on this, but I've noticed a huge difference in hair growth. I get labs regularly and everything is good there too.
  • Fond du Lac here!
  • I suffer from SAD (I live in Wisconsin so that's not uncommon here) and anxiety (which seems to be hormonal and linked to my cycle), and I have to say I noticed a great improvement while in ketosis! As in, almost completely gone. Lately I've been more lax and I can certainly tell the difference. I had some ridiculous…
  • I bought a belt late last fall (Nov/early Dec maybe) ... anyways, it was a plus size belt and I had to wear it on the 2nd hole. I got myself a hole punch because the 5 weren't enough. I'm now on hole 6 :D

  • @nlwright4 Yeah, do you have an update for us? We'd love to know how you're doing :)
  • Yes, I've noticed a difference in my cycle since being on keto. My first full cycle during keto seemed worse than in the past (my period came early, heavier, crampier) but now it has settled down. As far as weight, I've literally always had weight fluctuations when starting my period. In the past I could literally wake up…
  • As everyone else said, there's no way to spot reduce ... However, there are some health issues that can cause you to carry weight in specific areas. For example I have PCOS and insulin resistance, so a large amount of my weight is in my tummy. I also had issues as a kid that caused Drs to prescribe steroids which caused a…
  • I added it under "cardio" and low-balled a calorie burn. Since Piyo is pretty low in intensity I don't worry about eating back calories unless I feel particularly hungry anyway.

  • Apparently I'm having the opposite issue ... I went pants shopping the other day and had a horrible time. I shop at Maurices usually for my work pants, and I'm in between their sizes. The 15/16 is too big, but the 13/14 is way to small. So I decide to go home and dig around to see what I have for pants. Well, I found a…
  • Yeah, I'm down just over 30lbs and I'm definitely cold more often ... not really fun since I live in Wisconsin lol For some reason I notice my nose gets cold. What's up with that?
  • Oh, and for anybody that's interested there is a PCOS group here on MFP you should check out: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/3070-p-c-o-sis
