  • I'm a smidge below the range at about 118. I'm 5'4, 32 years old, and an avid crossfitter. I've never been heavy, but I just lost what I'd equate to "the last 10 pounds" and it took me about 5 months. I did a short cut at 1,550 then reversed my way back up to 1,850, which is what I'm eating at now. I'd say I'm still…
  • Gah. Quintessential crossfit shirt. I did not purchase that for myself. *where's the face palm smiley* :#
  • Three year Crossfitter here. :# When I first started, that "hit by a bus" feeling lasted two weeks or so, I'd say. And I was going into it in relatively good shape, but new to barbell work. I'd scale back for the first few weeks with how many days you go, and when you start feeling less terrible after the workouts, ramp up…
  • I recently posted these in another thread. Mine's not a weight loss, but muscle gained. I've been doing crossfit for 3 years, which I know isn't traditional "weightlifting" but sure involves a lot of lifting of weights. "Skinny fat" on the right from a few years ago before I started. And two that show the size…
  • I stick to crossfit and I started out "skinny fat." The one on the right was a few years ago before I started and the one on the left was a few months ago. These two are just favorites that show the size I've gained. Yay muscles. :)
  • Just personal experience here, but I've cut out oatmeal entirely because it caused such severe bloating for me. The discomfort it caused wasn't worth eating it anymore.
  • Getting back to that place after a loss like that is hard. I lost my fiance 20 months ago and I'm just now getting back to really getting my diet back in order. I was in a care giving role as well and while I maintained my gym schedule, everything else was just getting by. When he died I lost weight (in that unhealthy way…

  • Did 7 sets of 3 this morning with 21 lbs. Have managed 5 with 26 lbs, 4 with 36 lbs and I think my heaviest single rep was probably somewhere in the 45 lbs awhile back. I don't do chin ups much, but I imagine those numbers would go up a bit with a reverse grip.
  • I've been doing combinations of p90x, insanity, and bodyrock type workouts for a few years now. Towards the end of last year I screwed up my hip and ended up having hip surgery in January. Working out stopped completely for a good 4 weeks. Then I eased back into light upper body weights. This week I finally started back to…
  • I downloaded an HIIT app on my phone and just used that for a few of the workouts I tried of hers. Not as fancy with what you can program it to do, but it worked alright for simple timing intervals.
  • Another 415am here. I actually don't mind getting up that early though, so it works. I just won't have time to squeeze in an hour at night. I usually get 20 minutes or so extra at night if I have time. (Treadmill or ab work mostly)
  • I bought myself a treadmill. :-) I also got a massaging/heating chair topper.. I can kind of look at it as helping my fitness goals.. helps those sore muscles.
  • Under. It sits right under the band of my sports bra.
  • From what I've picked up around here, I'd say you're not eating enough. If you're doing p90x faithfully.. you're probably falling extremely short on calories. I'm 5'4 and weigh about 118.. and I'm shooting for 1800 calories.. but 1600 minimum. The nutrition plan and the formula for calorie intake it contains isn't lying to…

  • I've only tried hummus once before and I didn't like it.. and chickpeas in general gross me out.. but for whatever reason I decided to try making some anyway. It wasn't so good right after i made it.. in fact, it was alittle gross. But after it sat in the fridge for a few hours, the flavor sort of blended/melded together…

  • leftover cumin turkey meatloaf or bbq turkey tenderloin, green beans, and brown rice.
  • romaine lettuce, carrots, celery, brocolli, cucumber kiwis, bananas, berries depending on prices/quality whole wheat wraps, whole wheat sandwhich thins, oats, natural peanut butter chicken breast, 99% lean ground turkey 1% chocolate milk, skim milk egg whites part skim mozzarella frozen green beans, frosen raspberries…
  • I'll chime in. I'm just finishing up week 3. I haven't seen any drastic weight loss.. but I think that may depend on how much you have to lose (I don't really have much - 5 lbs or so - doin it more to tone up and make cardiovascular gains) That said, after two weeks, i'd lost alittle bit as far as measurements go.. nothing…
  • I can do them. I can do about 10 chin ups and maybe 5 or 6 pull ups. Never got close to the girls in p90x though.
  • I'm an engineer at a consulting firm.. when I'm in the office, there's always some kind of bagels, cookies, leftover sandwhiches and salads, chips, and everything else that people leave on the counter. When I'm working on construction sites.. some of the guys I've worked with like pizza. It's tough say no thanks when…
  • romaine but just because it's better for you. im guilty of enjoying a bowl of nothing but iceberg lettuce and ranch dressing on occasion. :blushing: what's your least favorite house chore?
  • I made this last nite - only without the beans and I added a pound of ground chicken that I browned on the stove with half a packet of low sodium taco seasoning. I must say, it was pretty good. I knew my boyfriend would eat it, but I'm a picky veggie person and chunks of tomato and cauliflower are typically turnoffs for…
  • Megadeth - Trust. How many jobs have you had in your life?
  • Side note - they actually make canned venison?? Love to eat it.. but might have a hard time with it in a can.
  • My pet rat Harper that died when she was just a wee one. Is there something you should be doing right now besides hanging out on the MFP boards?
  • hey now, my whole family has the same first intial
  • I made it through about 2.5 months.. there was alot of factors with it.. I was working long days outside with a long commute, so getting up at 4am and working out for an hour and a half got old. I'm also just not much for weights and that sort of thing. I think I could've put in alot more effort if I had enjoyed it more.…
  • Just thought I'd throw in - it IS possible. My boyfriend went from a little bit of a belly to a six pack in less than 90 days. He worked his butt off and followed the eating plan fairly well when he could. I didn't have quite the transformation, but my heart wasn't in it quite like his.. it just wasn't fun for me. If…
  • This! Or microwaving fish in the office.
  • lisaisso, thats what i was thinking about doing - just doing it the best that i can. i went through p90x last fall and am doing p90 masters series currently, both have a plyometrics day.. i can usually tell which moves i need to back off on and which ones dont give me trouble and just listen to my knees. i'll probably do…
