  • Aqua aerobics classes are brilliant. Very low impact as you are in water. Your body is supported. Great fun as well. You really feel you have worked out when you try to climb out off the pool after x
  • Has your situation improved? I'm at the stage of nothing working to even shift one pound!!! So depressing and now I have an injury. Hints and tips?
  • Everything is junk if you eat too much of it. You can eat anything in moderation, you just have to prepare. Saturdays are my treat day, so i exercise harder in the week to compensate. it gives me an enjoyable goal to look forward to...
  • Ive got a free pedometer app on my phone you can walk or run using it. Its pretty accurate to and you can set daily step goals. Its called Accupedo and doesn't cost a penny. I tend to use free apps first, then when they dont work hard enough for me I go and spend some money on other equipment if i think its necessary.
  • Gosh how much food did you eat????? I also had a blow out, but I had one takeaway which i split into 2 meals and half a bottle of wine. I did extra in the gym in the days leading up to this to allow for this well earned blow out. It was such a nice treat and i didnt put any weight on thank cod! Just draw a line under the…
  • Hahahahaha love this but i actually have jogging in place as an exercise from when i used Wii fit. Will never look at it the same agian
  • A 1lb a week is pretty good. Id be pleased with that. Slowly and sensibly is the way to go. WELL DONE YOU ;-)
  • I stick to diet coke and take my own low calorie snacks from home. ;-)
  • I dont feel guilty i feel annoyed if i miss a gym session lol. I have Thursday & (most) sundays as rest days. I would go everyday, but you need to rest. I also use the gym as a stress reliever, so a good Body Combat session or running is so good at getting the Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh out! I find it…
  • The gym can seem intimidating at first, but you get used to it. I use a leisure centre council run gym, and the people that go are not as pretentious or as smug as some of the private ones you go to. There are people of all shapes, ages and sizes. If you can get a buddy to go with you for a while that helps, and after you…
  • I have started eating 40g porridge with water and about as much milk as you would put in your cup of tea. Not the most tasty food, but it helps with hunger pangs and gives enough energy for a gym session. Porridge is all very inexpensive compare to most cerial brands that are full of sugar!

  • A month on from this post and i am now eating 1650 calories a day and have still lost 4lb!!! I am now trying to find a level to maintain rather then lose. Happy that the info given worked. Thanks everyone
  • I exercise a lot and was starting to feel ravenous all the time, and had stopped losing weight. Somebody on here suggested i up my calories by 100 a week. I was on 1400, so because i didnt entirely believe what they had said i only upped it by 50, and another 50 the following week. Strangely enough i didnt feel starving…
  • ARRRRGGGGHHHHHHHH !!!! I HATE BMI !!! Seriously I think its an outdated mode of gauging a persons weight. It should be banned. Ive lost about nearly 2 stone over the last 2 years, I have done it via exercise and changing my attitude to food. I took a BMI test and it said at the time i was overweight, I have to say i didnt…
  • Yeah I have also started eating porridge. The guy at the gym told me off for never eating breakfast and said try porridge. I was thinking YUCK, but I can happily say im converted. Its just enough to take off the hunger pangs and gives me that extra boost during a morning gym session. Very inexpensive too
  • Hi, Yes I do meal plan ahead of time. I always put my drinks in & milk etc for the entire week as i have the same everyday. I limit myself to 5 cups of tea and 5 cups of fruit tea. I also add my milk quota which i measure out. I plan the night before what im having the next day and put it on mfp ready. If there are any…
  • I got some scales and have never looked back. You just dont realize you are overeating by not doing portion control. What you guestimate is normally no where near what the reality is. I also use a smaller plate to eat from, so my meals look huge. Larger plates often result in over filling on portion control:flowerforyou:
  • I have had a coil fitted every 5 years for the last 15 years and have never noticed any pain. However i do retain water, so use a herbal remedy to easy this. When i started using mfp i started at 1400 calories not 1200 as this is very very low. Once i started losing weight and with exercise i actually started to put my…
  • It does take more then a week for your body to get used to things. I started on 1450 calories as I thought 1200 was way to low, and i lost a 1lb a week for 8 weeks, Then I stalled, BUT I do a great deal of exercise and was getting really hungry so i have been slowly upping my intake by about 50 calories a week and am still…
  • Yeah Your info seems to marry up with what other have said. Its just feel weird adding more calories. But im sure i will manage to eat them, Im starving lately ;-)
  • Cant say I really look at pictures, unless its those before & after shots, which i love. Most of the male ones i have seen are headless lol
  • I love before and after pictures, so well done you. You also seem to have lost about 10 years as well, so again well done ;-)
  • Hmmm will give it a try, although im only putting my calories upto 1400, and see how i go, as there is no way i could eat 2000 a day comfortably. I swim twice a week and walk 20 mins a day 5 days a week on the school run, so im not inactive, but i dont seem to lose anything after losing a stone. However, im really not very…
  • That is weird, maybe its the juice that dehydrates you. I remember reading in the news last year about a lady who basically drowned from drinking to much water. She was into fitness in a big way so drank loads of water, and flooded her kidneys/liver ????? or something. Two sides of the extreme really...;-)
  • Since i have been on my eating plan & do regular swimming, I haven't really been ill in the last 6 months. However, now the weather has got far colder (Im in the UK), and ive had to put the heating on, I have felt more stuffy, and sluggish & started having sinus problems again. I try to limit the heating, but obviously its…
  • I weigh at the gym every 2 weeks after my swim ;-)
  • Well done you. Im addicted to this site and feel bad if i dont log in lol! I find it really easy to stick to my eating plan through the week, but weekends can be tough , as my partner is home. I tend to save calories now during the week to compensate for the extra on a weekend and rarely go over my weekly goal. I love how…
  • I only eat weight watchers bread now, wholemeal, its only got 52 calories or so. Makes fabulous crispy toast to. I used to eat the Special K cereal, but found it to be so full of sugar i stopped even though its advertised as an aid to weight loss. So many things are like this now, its frustrating!
  • I only weigh in about once every 10 days, as i find it way more encouraging to see those scales go down. Try and forget about scales, get yourself into a good eating routine instead, and focus on other things. Try only going on the scales once a week. If you dont have a great deal to lose, it also takes longer to lose it…
