Like! It especially gets me when children's cereals are marketed as multigrain to make the parents feel better about it, haha.

I only eat weight watchers bread now, wholemeal, its only got 52 calories or so. Makes fabulous crispy toast to. I used to eat the Special K cereal, but found it to be so full of sugar i stopped even though its advertised as an aid to weight loss. So many things are like this now, its frustrating!
  • Can someone please enlighten me why it would make a difference? As long as you stay in a deficit you will lose weight.

That's technically true, it's just interesting information for people trying to fill their bodies with the best foods they can, where they can :-) A lot of people try but are thwarted by thinking multigrain is as good as wholegrain, or not realizing how much sugar some low fat foods can have, etc.

So important to read labels. Many of the claims made by manufacturers are bogus. I look for wholegrain/wholemeal, low sodium, low fat and low sugar. There are many hidden culprits. If it has high fructose corn syrup I don't buy it. Hunt's catsup does not have corn syrup and I think it tastes better.

Staying in deficit will be easier if you eat healthy (veggies, fruit, lean protein, wholegrain carbs...). They generally "fill you up" better than processed stuff (full of sugars)
  • Ah I see...thanks for telling.

Guess I'm one of few who have a set meal plan day in and day out....boring I know =)
