You just learn to ignore treats and after awhile it becomes second nature. My mantra is..."you can't have it both ways." Once you decide that maintaining a healthy weight is more important than a few minutes of gustatory pleasure it becomes very simple.

Was never a fan of Starbucks until I discovered their Blonde Roast. My favorite coffee at the moment.

Jingle Cats hands down best Christmas music ever! ;) I've always played it for my cats over the years but, sadly, this year I'm without a cat. Had my 17 year old put down two weeks ago.

Haven't weighed in over a week. Down a pound as of this a.m. At 5'6" and 136 I'm pretty much ready for maintenance mode which I frankly find daunting.

17, first time in a bar (drinking age way back then was 18), drank way too much, felt sick, never made it to the bathroom, mortified. A lot of alcohol under my belt since then but I never got sick from drinking again.

Whenever I read about someone's inability to stick to a diet the advice I offer is always the same. You have to want this badly enough to taste it and until you accept that fact you most likely will not succeed. You might be able to get away with doing some things half- assed in your life but weight loss isn't one of them.…

I find reduced fat Vegenaise to be surprisingly good and I tend to be pretty picky about Mayo (at one time nothing but Hellmans would work for me). The regular Vegenaise is even better.

I really don't care for just the zoodles but find that if I mix in whole wheat angel hair (half and half) it works.

Around 150, some days a little higher but never over 200. This is an accomplishment for me because prior to losing 22 lbs (at goal now) I had to be WAY WAY over the top. I'm a true carb junkie...gave up sugar several years ago but love bread, pasta, bagels which I now pretty much stay away from. When I do eat them I make…

In order for me to succeed at something (whether it be knitting, soap making, weight loss, whatever I've wanted to learn) I've always had to be well informed. As someone who has had on and off weight issues over the years I've spent many, many hours learning all I can about nutrition. Years ago I went to the library and…

I've always been well aware when I gained weight and didn't need anyone telling me. MYOB.

If you really want to do something, you'll find a way. If not, you'll find an excuse.

I was a PAD (often more) smoker for 58 years. Yes, you read that right....58 years. The only time I didn't smoke was when I was pregnant for my two daughters and only because I couldn't stand it. As soon as they were born, the first thing I wanted was a cigarette. In December I decided that it was time to quit and maybe…

I just got the "Oh She Glows Cookbook" by Angela Liddon. She has a blog by t he same name that I've been reading for ages. Great recipes, beautiful photos. There's a killer veggie burger recipe in there that I now use over any other. You can read the reviews at Amazon to see if it might be something that would appeal to…

There are lots of recipes out there for cauliflower pizza crust. Never tried it but if you like cauliflower might be worth a shot. I love pizza too and haven't had any since mid May. Hard, very hard.

If you're having problems with these burgers falling apart you could try adding an egg or a flax egg (3 T water and 1 T ground flax meal). Also, this is my favorite veggie burger recipe. They're not as quick and easy as the recipe posted but they're excellent and the only recipe I use.…
