Curious: What is your daily carbohydrate intake?

I see so many people on this thread saying, oh, I'm averaging under 100g of carbs per day without even trying. I'm eating 1200-1300 calories per day and averaging closer to 200, and that's after cutting back severely on most carb-tastic food. I've cut the starchy side dishes out of my dinners (no more rice, pasta or potatoes), and I've cut down on most sugary snack foods, too.
...I honestly don't know how this is even possible! Are people cutting out all grains, fruits and veggies and simply eating meat all the time?
I cut out all grains yes. Fruits are mostly limited to a flat handful per day of low glycemic high antioxidant fruits such as wild berries. I will eat a bit more fruit after a glycogen depleting workout. Above ground veggies are a staple and although they are a source of carbs, the numbers are not astronomical.
Fat on the other hand, runs rampant throughout my diet, and I couldn't be happier:) And the clean meats make a daily appearance yes.0 -
Around 150, some days a little higher but never over 200. This is an accomplishment for me because prior to losing 22 lbs (at goal now) I had to be WAY WAY over the top. I'm a true carb junkie...gave up sugar several years ago but love bread, pasta, bagels which I now pretty much stay away from. When I do eat them I make sure they fit into my daily calorie allowance.0

I'm cutting out grains, and I eat more veggies than fruits, but I generally have half an apple with my breakfast.
I don't eat low-fat. I don't even sweat it. And I eat a metric butt-load of veggies.
I also don't eat pre-packaged foods much. I think that can creep in unexpectedly.
A typical day for me:
BREAKFAST
2 sliced of bacon
2 scrambled eggs
1/2 Granny Smith Apple
2T Half n Half in my coffee
Carbs 14
Lunch
1/2 c mushrooms
1 1/2 c sweet red pepper
1/2 c onion
1 C chopped chicken breast
1 T olive oil
(Sauted this all together with some garlic.NOM!)
Carbs 18
Snack
1 C Blueberries
Carbs 19
DINNER
Pork loin and leek saute (Pork loin, leeks, apples, garlic and red wine)
Carbs 20
You'll have to check my math, but I think that's 71 carbs.0 -

I should point out that I'm a... well, there's no word for it, but I don't eat much meat. Only poultry and certain types of (non-shellfish) fish. That's maybe 4-5 times per week. Other than that I'm pretty much vegetarian, though I do eat and enjoy dairy.
So yeah... carbs are naturally gonna be higher for me, 'cause I'm having cereal for breakfast instead of bacon, and nut butters or yogurts as my lunch protein source instead of meat. Lots of fruits and veggies, too.
I don't know that I'm really gonna sweat it, though. I mean, I feel full, I'm losing weight, I'm getting my nutritional needs met... I feel like ultra-low carb is more or less just a fad diet unless there's a specific medical need for it. So it probably comes down to personal choice.0 -

There is no need for dietary restrictions unless you have health concerns. I was just diagnosed with diabetes so I am trying to decrease carbs. I see a dietician in 2 weeks and I will have a better idea of how I should eat then.0 -

Depends on whether it is a run day or rest day, and how long of a run it is. I was losing weight without exercise at 120g per day, but I have to go higher now for longer runs. I'm trying to find the sweet spot, and I seem to be averaging about 170g/day lately on rest days, and on run days it really depends on how far I run. I refuel based on my weight, so I look for 68g/hr of running.0

And yep. Pretty much agree with you there. I think it's just that there's a general attitude on these forums that carbs = bad and protein & fat = good. When, as you well point out, it may vary based on individual health needs, but it's not one-size-fits-all like that.0 -
I really only started logging on MFP seriously in early Sept. But here's what my last 90 days look like.
Having a bit of a carb bender here since my friend's bachelorette party and wedding in mid Oct...working on getting it back under 100g a day. I do better with more protein.
