  • I've done it. It makes a nice creamy smoothie and there was no added flavor that I could detect. It's a wonderful way to add some healthy fat to your smoothie.
  • Hello everyone! I'm currently finishing up week 6 of Booty-Ful Beginnings. I'm a little different than the rest of you as I'm a big girl (currently 277 lbs from 315), and don't get to see any definition results yet. But I do feel stronger. And my booty (Which my husband loves and asked me to try to keep during my…
  • My plan? I'm doing three days a week of Stronglifts 5x5 training (Barbell lifting), and three days a week of the Zombies, Run 5K app (Interval walk/run training), and trying to eat at a good defecit while still getting plenty of protein and drinking tons of water. So far it's working well, so I'm sticking to the plan! (Oh…
  • Yes, lift weights! Strength train! I've actually heard that weight training now, while you're heavy, actually gives you a bit of an advantage, as a higher body fat makes you able to lose fat and gain muscle at the same time, which leaner people can't do. If you were to lose all the fat with just cardio, with no weight…
  • I've lost 58 lbs. since April 2011, 12 of those pounds being just since January 1st. In the beginning, I would do an hour of straight cardio a day, but I wasn't seeing results, and I was getting so hungry that I'd blow my diet and not lose any weight. The bulk of the weight that I've lost has been with almost all weight…
  • Feel free to add me. :)
  • Wow, you look beautiful! I can definitely see the difference in your waist. Great job!
  • Thanks! :)
  • Hello! I'm new to the group, and I'm a 2013 bride- April 19th, 2013 to be exact. Less than 100 days to go! I'm hoping to lose another 20-30 lbs on top of the 54 that I've lost so far, mainly through leangains and strength training.
  • I like that it goes on your wrist. For me that takes out the hassle of remembering to switch it from my work bra to my sports bra, lol. Other than that, not too impressed. I'd rather keep my original FitBit, than pay another $100 bucks for almost the exact same thing.
  • Just wanted to note that this list doesn't work for everyone. I'm on plaquenil, too, and because we caught it in time and have been lucky, I haven't had a flare up since May, and I still eat all these things, in moderation of course. I'm glad too, I don't want to give up meat or dairy!
  • My RA never fully developed, so the flare ups were very random. My first flare ups were in my right knee and left ankle. Then it would shift to my left knee, then my right ankle, then my left shoulder, then my right elbow, and so on. Then, still unaware of what the problem was (I was working out heavily and thought I was…
  • My fiance and I have been playing since it came out. My main is currently a Sylvari Mesmer. She's the prettiest rainbowiest character, and I love her! stina.2195 if you want to add me, currently on Anvil Rock.
  • Pssst. . . if you look online, there are tutorials for making your own TRX style straps for much less money. Check youtube, it's actually pretty easy.
  • I've been there. It sucks. What you should do is really think about how you were feeling when you decided to binge. Happy? Stressed? Angry? Sad? If you can figure out what triggered the binging session, you can be more prepared in the future. And don't worry, journeys like these take a long time, this is just a little bump…
  • Hello! I am 26, and am getting married April of next year! I have already lost 48 pounds, but would like to lose at least another 52 before the wedding, if not more. Currently, my strategy is doing weight training (Heavy) four times a week, and bodyweight strength exercises two days a week. No scheduled cardio, but I'm…
  • Yep, know about rest days, mine is usually Sunday. I've been trying it with the higher setting for the past week, and it's worked okay, I guess it's just easier, visually, for me to see the 1200. On rest days I figured I'll just remember the original number and not sweat that it looks over.
  • No heart problems here, no blood pressure issues either, other than the knees and the general breathing strain I can exercise fairly strenuously without issue, it's just that the level of what's considered strenuous for me is currently not set that high. I have also started swimming laps, so far only on the weekends, I can…
  • Okay, one thing i didn't mention. I'm currently around 275 lbs, 5'8", and would like to eventually get down to 160 or a bit lower. My knees have some issues, and there's no way I can jog for any real length of time. So should i focus on power walking, with little "sprints" of jogging, or use an elliptical instead? I know…
  • There is a regular at my gym, a beefy guy in his late forties, that grunts every single time he does anything. Loudly. Like porn star grunting. He doesn't even lift that much weight, but every single rep he's grunting and growling and then flinging the weights on the ground. I'm not a prude but it's pretty obscene when I…
  • Hello everyone. I've been on MFP for over a year, but after a month of unexplainable migratory joint pain, I was diagnosed last Monday with early Rheumatoid Arthritis. I've been put on Plaquenil, so hopefully that will work to help with things eventually. I'm currently trying to get back to where I was before the RA…
  • Awesome idea!
  • I had almost the exact same thing after going back to weight training after a long hiatus. In my case it was just extreme muscle soreness. Ice and not working it out for a few days helped it slowly get better. Hope you're better soon!
  • I would say if it's something like general cardio or a full body workout, just move on to the next day. But if you missed your upper workout and you don't have another planned that week, it would be a good idea to maybe cut out one of your cardio-only days to fit it in, so that your whole body is getting equally worked…
  • Sounds like you're on the right track. You can do it!
  • Are the two glasses of wine factored into your calorie total for the day? A glass of wine has somewhere around 110-130 calories in it. Also, does your exercise include strength training? The more muscle you have, the more calories you burn just standing around, it revs your metabolism.
  • I couldn't do a regular lunge or squat in the beginning either. What helped me learn to do squats correctly was doing squats up against a wall leaning against an exercise ball. It helps you keep your back straight while you go into a squat, and helps strengthen your legs for doing a regular squat later. As for lunges, the…
  • Here's a calculator specifically for ergometers, one kind of which is the hand pedaling one. Make sure to change the type from leg to arm- http://www.exrx.net/Calculators/CycleMETs.html
  • I'd like to join. I need some accountability for the holiday season. I fell off the wagon at Thanksgiving, but I'm hoping I can hop back on before too much damage is done!
  • I don't normally comment in this particular forum, but I have to say you are such an inspiration! Way to go!
