Lots of weight to lose- Can I decrease my net calories?

I'm currently around 274 lbs., and for a 2 lb. a week weight loss, MFP sets my calorie goal at 1540 a day. I also exercise, which adds calories back each day. Since I have so much weight to lose, can I manually set my calorie goal to 1200 (So I don't go too low) and then just make sure to eat back all my exercise calories?
(I'm not planning on starving myself, I'm just thinking I still have so much weight to lose that I can lose it a little faster at this point, keeping careful track of how I'm feeling, getting plenty of sleep, eating healthy foods, etc.)

Why don't you keep the 1540, and just make sure that when you exercise(you should be taking regular rest days btw) you net at least 1200? That way on your days off you're not worried about eating 1200, you can go for the 15400

Yep, know about rest days, mine is usually Sunday. I've been trying it with the higher setting for the past week, and it's worked okay, I guess it's just easier, visually, for me to see the 1200. On rest days I figured I'll just remember the original number and not sweat that it looks over.0
