I'm vegetarian with many vegan tendencies. Also a runner! Feel free to add me if you'd like! :)

I love apples and eat them multiple times throughout the day, but they leave me feeling hungry 30-40 minutes after I eat them. I hate that. But I do notice I feel energized from eating pretty much any fruit.

I love oatmeal, but it's hard for me to find oatmeal I actually LIKE that isn't full of sugar. Or if it's a respectable amount of sugar, the serving size is so small that I feel like I need 2-3x as much just to feel satisfied.

Yeah I'm really only eating a fiber-rich cereal and some fruit. I used to make egg white omelettes but I got burnt out on them really quick. I know it's better to eat protein for breakfast but my only options, being a vegetarian, have been exhausted. I hate how apples make me hungry 20 minutes later!! Glad I'm not the only…

Gave me about 500 more calories as well! Lol if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is...

When I've had spaghetti squash from a restaurant, it was always on/associated with the pasta menu. It is very filling, like pasta can be. It is DELICIOUS with marinara (sp?) sauce :)

Congrats!! I know how exciting that is! A couple years ago, I dropped from a size 10 to a size 6. I couldn't believe it when I tried on those jeans. And every time I wore the jeans I felt like a million bucks! I'm sure you feel the same. Congrats again! :)

Amazing! What a great accomplishment! :) Congrats

I disagree. Last summer I ate a weird mix of healthy and junk food, yet I lost 10 lbs because I was working out a lot and eating 6-7 small meals throughout the day. French fries, white bread, sonic blasts, pasta, still lost weight. I was just smart about knowing how much I was burning that day. I'm a pretty big health nut…

I find that I rarely overeat when I eat smaller, more frequent meals throughout the day. But I agree - As long as you're counting as accurate as possible, and staying within your limits, it shouldn't matter how you do it.

Congrats on making the decision to change! This site is a great tool for motivation and teaching. Along with the great ideas everyone else has already said, I'd like to add that big changes don't happen over night. So cliche but it's true! If you have unhealthy habits, start breaking them slowly. If you drink 6 sodas a…

I LOVE hummus! I can understand why some people wouldn't like it though. Actually, this post got me thinking, there are very few "healthy" foods that I dislike... I can't stand mushrooms and olives! Other than that, I enjoy pretty much anything. I'm getting tired of Zucchini; I'd rather not eat it anymore for the rest of…

I have a similar situation. At work I have to bring my lunch and I'm completely burnt out on sandwiches. Now I mainly pack fruit and some low cal snacks. Do you have access to a microwave? If I did I'd bring some left overs.

600-800 calories at breakfast...that is kind of a no-brainer. Of course that won't help any. I think it's obvious that a *big* breakfast isn't ideal. Everyone has a different idea what a big breakfast entails. For me, a big breakfast is anything over 300 calories. Breakfast is definitely important, but eating 600+ calories…

And when I say studies, I mean legit ones, found in scientific journals and peer reviewed by licensed and registered medical professionals. It's scary how many people will see the phrase "studies show..." and believe it is credible.

I would go crazy if I didn't eat breakfast. It's always the first thing I do. I wake up and go straight to the kitchen. Now that I think of it, I don't notice that I feel particularly hungry either. If that's the case I eat a small breakfast. But I do need something. Especially if I work out in the morning, I eat a small…

Yes I am the same way! I see it and I'm like "oh REALLY?!" I get these mental images of looking amazing in the mirror and feeling elated with myself. Or being able to run a race faster because I weight less. It is a great motivator!

I have the same problem! I eat a lot of fruits and veggies and I'm always over on sugar. It's pretty demoralizing because I rarely eat refined sugar. I look at the nutrition report and I'm just like, "this is insane."

That is a really great attitude to have! Congrats on not giving in to negativity. Sometimes that can be a challenge in and of itself. And 5ks are great for staying active! :)

*sending positive thoughts your way* :) Job interviews are always a little nerve wracking, but I'm sure you'll do fine! Good luck and let us know how it went :)

I've experimented with shot bloks, carb boom, gu, and powerbar gel. Everyone has their favorite. I personally like powerbar gel the most. Some people don't like how sweet some gels are. Some don't like to chew on the run (i.e. shot bloks). There are also gels and chewables with caffeine. I don't like those, but some do. I…

It's so relieving to see other women struggling with the same thing (although it doesn't make it suck any less). Has anyone been prescribed sprinolactone to reduce excess body hair? My doc says she will most likely prescribe it to me but I haven't heard much about it. I've heard a lot about metformin and my doc mentioned…

You do look great. What a fantastic accomplishment! Congrats! PS- I am new here. What does NSV mean?

I know how tough it is to be health conscious while being a full time student! But it is possible. Little changes here and there are what makes a difference. And even short workouts are better than nothing at all. And I LOVE the mobile app too! I probably wouldn't use it if it weren't for the app. Glad you're here!…

That is a good rule to go by! That his I weaned myself off soda originally. I still do it now. I don't do the 60 oz thing, but I tell myself I can have that soda if I drink a full glass of water first. Most of the time, when I finish the glass of water, I don't even want the soda anymore! :)
-
I just think this is always an interesting topic. I completely cut diet soda out of my life for basically an entire year (last year). I've started back on it recently because I do shift work as an EMT and I'm just NOT a coffee person. To be honest, I haven't noticed any negative outcomes from starting it again. My main…

I'd have to agree that bread is ok in moderation. I've seen some positive changes to my overall digestion and weight when I've drastically reduced my bread intake. And I do try to avoid white anything as much as possible.

PCOS: not fun :( I don't know for sure if I have it, but I have a lot of the same symptoms. I know how it is! Hang in there! And glad you're here at MFP! *sending positive thoughts your way* :)

Welcome! :) Glad you're here!
