  • I have more slack in my seatbelt and I had the first person to not see me in a while to tell me I was looking slimmer!
  • I am blogging as well. I will check yours out. Mine is at www.myjourneytothemountain.com
  • Hello, my name is Kristi. I am having gastric bypass on Aug 17th 2020. I started this journey at 403. At my last weigh in I was 396. I go for my next weekly weigh in tomorrow. I am an emotion eater, but through intensive and specific type of therapy I am feeling like I am in control of my eating more than ever before. I…
  • I am sure you know this, but definitely watch your sodium intake and increase your potassium. You may also want to invest in a scale that measures body fat and water. It may help you know when it is actual weight gain vs. water.
  • Great advice. Thanks
  • The calorie goal that MFP gives you is based off your profile and how much weight you wanted to lose. You need to eat your calories plus only some of your exercise calories. I think the average among my friends is about 50% of exercise calories. Your body must have a certain amount of "fuel" ie. food, in order to function…
  • This is wonderful. It really makes me think about things that I know I have not come to terms with. While most of my health has remained good (ie blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol), my body has taken a beating. My knees hurt, my skin sags. In all honesty though I am most worried about the skin. I have so many deep…
  • I am obese. I joined the YMCA a week ago. I did the orientation with a trainer and got my workout routine. I did light cardio and worked on the weight machines. I also went swimming laps a couple of times. This week I started their water aerobics class that meets 3 days a week before i go to work. I plan on doing the water…
  • You might just have to play around with the numbers. If you continue at a deficit and are not losing weight, then slowly up your intake until you hit a number that works for you. Due to the amount of exercise you are getting you need to make sure you are giving your body enough fuel to run. Good luck!
  • I use my WII for exercise. I have a lot of knee pain so running is not an option. I am getting ready to join the YMCA here specifically for the water classes. Little to no impact on joints but awesome cardio!
  • People who text and drive. Don't think I won't honk my horn at them and wave them down to put the damn phone down! They are the ones killing people out there.
  • I don't have a goal weight per say. I am doing 10% loss at a time until I hit a weight that I feel is right for ME. My goal weight that i put into MFP is the weight I will be at when I lose 10%. When I lose that 10% I will adjust my goal weight again. My health coach says its actually the best way to lose weight. Since I…
  • I wish yall could see the way i used to eat. I am sure my sodium was double or more what it is now. I am slowing finding ways to cut the sodium. It's so hard. I think I am going to have to give up most processed foods in order to do that.
  • My husband said he almost bought me a food scale and a weight scale for Mothers day, but was worried I wouldn't want that type of gift for this Holiday. I wish he had. I really really want both scales. I may have to treat myself and at least get the food scale this week. It would really help me.
  • My dr thinks most of that was water weight because of how much sodas I was drinking and I am sure my sodium intake was off the charts.
  • I just opened up my diary.
  • I too had the lap band. I lost about 80 lbs over 2.5 years, I gained 60 of it back. I am now CC w/ MFP and feel like I am having better success. I will never do another weight loss surgery again. It's all about changing your lifestyle in regards to eating and exercise. That is the ONLY way to keep it off.
  • I love CC w/ MFP. It helps me see the nutrients I am eating (or not eating) and helps me find founds that I can substitute that are a better fit. It's teaching me what foods my body needs. I LOVE IT!
  • skipping breakfast isn't the answer. What did you eat? We might can give advice if we have a starting point of what you ate.
  • I am trying to get in a 15 min walk each day.
  • My last job would raise your workstation if you wanted to stand and work. I wish I could do that at my new job. I sit most of the day. I do try and get up more often because sitting makes my whole body ache.
  • False Next person has traveled overseas.
  • Everyone is different. I have bad knees so I can't do much of any high impact exercises. I got me a recumbent exercise bike for home and I got the WII Fit board. I started off slow and I am slowly increasing how much I use them. I also just try to take more steps each day. Do you have a fitness tracker? I recommend one of…
  • WAY TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Just tell yourself....."FAILING IS NOT AN OPTION"...don't let one bad day ruin everything for you. cfisher81 said it perfectly. Forget yesterday and move on with today!!! GOOD LUCK!
  • I completely understand. If you are 100% honest with this website it will work for you! Good luck!!!
  • There is absolutely truth to that article. My doctor has a special scale that is a body fat analyzer. It measures my body fat, muscle mass and even water weight. When I was exercising a lot, I was not losing weight on the scale, but my print out showed that I was losing fat and gaining muscle. My percentage of body fat was…
