  • Sounds really good. I'll have to get the ingredients and give 'er a try this weekend!
  • I wish I had started watching what I ate & getting exercise when I was 15. If I had, I may not be as big as I am today. First off, everyone is right. You MUST eat during the day. Get up 15 or 20 mins earlier in the morning and have a filling cereal-- like shredded wheat-- or some oatmeal. Take time to eat during your lunch…
  • FYI-- this is 103 cals per muffin, out of 24 muffins. I use a small ice cream scoop to portion mine out.
  • I have made the "Hungry Girl's" chocolate cupcakes and they are yummy. It's 1 box devils food cake mix and one can of pumpkin puree-- that's it! (Not pumpkin pie filling, but the plain puree.) You mix until combined. It does take a little elbow grease. Then bake them in muffin tins. Each one has about 100 calories and 2…
  • Definitely the first. I can't stand to hear people complain about not being able to lose weight, but then they exercise too much and eat too little. They don't understand the whole "food is your body's fuel" concept. Whatev. LOL
  • That is awesome! Way to go! Hopefully I can lose it just like you did!
  • I get the craving for sweet and salty around that time also. This seems to happen to a lot of us. Must just be nature. I like the little individual sized microwave popcorns to help satisfy the salty. And I LOVE sherbet. Kroger's Deluxe rainbow sherbet is damn good for what it is. As for chocolate..... that's rough. I love…
  • Do you bake this or just eat like cereal? Sounds good!
  • I have considered getting another tattoo once I lose some weight, also. I am a Libra and the symbol for that sign is the scales.... That would be appropriate! LOL
  • I use the Hungry Girl recipe and mine came out good. 1 large russet potato and 1 head of cauliflower florets. Boil in water for about 15-20 mins then drain very VERY well! Then I do 1 TBS margarine, 2 TBS fat free half and half, 1/2 TBS minced garlic, salt and pepper to taste. I don't blend in a processoer or blender. I…
  • I would focus on losing the weight & taking the vaca with your family. That way you are happier & healthier for the pregnancy. Plus, the 3 little ones you do have will get to have some fun time w/ mom & dad before baby #4 takes up all the time, attention, money, etc. I personally would hate to walk around Disney either…
  • I bowled for 3 hours today. It's under cardio but I wish it was under strength, too. I mean, I did throw a 10 lb ball at least 15 times per game, for 4 games! That HAS to help me gain some strength.... if only in the one arm! lol
  • I've been doing this for about 2 mos, and I can relate. I don't mind logging my food, so much as I am not as "gung ho" as I used to be about putting in the work. I was doing well for a few weeks as far as getting my 5 servings of fruits and veggies each day and so forth, but I've been petering out a bit. However, I have…
  • I absolutely agree with the "get the box & immediately cut your meal in half" post. My doctor told me this long ago.... Have what you want if that is what you are craving, but only eat half. Want that burger & fries? Go ahead-- but cut the burger in half & only eat half the fries. Craving chocolate cake? Go for it-- but…
  • I totally feel you. I am at the heaviest I have been in my entire life. All I do is gain weight. I am 30 yrs old & weigh 300 lbs... which means I have put on 10 lbs a year, if you break it down. I am starting to feel it physically, too.... My knees, my back, the indents in my shoulders from the bras, the sleep apnea.... I…
  • Thank you all for the responses and ideas. A serving size is pretty small; I did know that part. And is it 5 servings of fruits & veggies total? I thought it was 5 of each. The "old" USDA food pyramid states 3-5 of veggies and 2-4 of fruit... so 5-9 total. Guess it's all in how you interpret it. I like doing the wrap at…
  • I am eating more veggies. I prefer them steamed w/ some pepper & garlic. Still hard to eat a salad chock full of raw veggies with a TBS or 2 of non-fat dressing though. For lunch, I usually take 2 or 3 servings (spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes) and roll them up with deli turkey, low fat mozzarella cheese & some mustard in a…
  • My sister has been losing weight for the last year and learned the importance of resting.... but only after getting 4 hairline fractures in one of her legs! You won't gain back all your weight by resting every few days. Furthermore, you will help reduce the chance for injuries. I am a very big girl so I am starting out…
  • Monday thru Friday, I tend to pre-fill my diary... for breakfast, lunch and snacks at least. (Weekends are too scattered.) I often have to wait to fill out dinner until I get home & see what my man is cooking that evening. If it's my turn to cook, I pre-fill at some point in the afternoon. I find that pre-filling my diary…
  • You have to allow yourself some "cheats" in order to stay sane-- at least I know I do. I know a lot of people who are "good" all week long, then allow themselves to cheat on like Friday nite, or the weekend. I have been doing that myself. Last Friday nite, I was craving Mexican, so we went to a local place. They don't have…
  • I have been doing 1 small Ole tortilla, 3 slices of 99% fat free oven roasted turkey deli slices, a 1/2 cup or so of baby spinach, 1 slice of part-skim mozzarella, & a tablespoon or so of honey mustard (not dressing, but actual HONEY mustard-- low cal, no fat.) It's pretty yummy and only about 220 cals & 5 grams of fat.
  • I started this 4 weeks ago & haven't been on a scale yet (partly because I don't own one!) But I am trying to focus more on how I feel: Do I have more energy? Am I sleeping better? Is my GERD not acting up as much? Am I in better "control"? Do my clothes fit better? I have several nice shirts that I haven't worn very…
  • I know there are some dairy-free puddings out there. I LOVE a fat free chocolate pudding cup w/ a chopped up banana. One of my faves. I also recently posted a recipe from the Hungry Girl, on Cooking Channel-- with one modification-- for chocolate cupcakes. Only 103 cals and 2 g fat per cupcake & super yummy and moist. When…

  • I am a severe emotional eater as well. I eat when I am happy, sad, depressed, bored-- you name it. I have only been doing this for a month, so I am still trying to feel out my "triggers." For me, the worst time is in the evenings, at home, sitting on the couch, bored. And it's raining like hell outside, again, for the 40th…
  • I know how you feel. I think we all do. I hung out with friends and had too much to drink Saturday nite. I didn't want to "blow it" with food, so I actually ended up not eating enough, while drinking. Needless to say, I was sick all Sunday morning, and, uh, lost everything, if ya know what I mean. By the time last nite…
