I'm a bit late reporting in. I went from 203 to 196. 7lbs doesn't sound like a lot, but that puts me at 50lbs lost in the last year. My current goal is 195. I'm hoping to make that mark before my birthday in early May.

I occasionally plateau or even gain a bit of weight. I put on a bit of weight last week, but I'm pretty sure that was because I hammered down coffee and diet soda for an entire day. I had a math test. This week I'm staying on the straight and narrow. Hopefully, I will see some good results on Monday.

Beginning Weight: 246.4 Start Challenge: 203 (1/1/2015) Current Weight: 197.4 (2/2/2015) That makes my January weight loss 5.6 pounds. Total weight loss is now at 49 pounds. Although my current goal weight is set at 195 pounds, I plan to reset my weight down to 172. 172 was my weight when I got out of the US Army over 25…

08/04: 229 12/25: 204 So I actually lost about 25. I feel good about that weight loss. Doing this group got me to sign up for the Lose 20 by Easter group. I'm going to continue on my road to a more healthy and fit me.

Currently, I'm living on the coast of Georgia (USA). My path to this place has been kind of winding. I mostly grew up in Maryland. When I attended college, I was 6'2" and 155 pounds. Between college and working as an assistant manager (worked 70 hours and got paid for 40), I managed to hit 195 pounds. I then went into the…

I replaced my Fitbit Zip with a Fitbit Flex. I managed to break two Fitbit Zips in six months. I think I am a bit too rough carrying Zip in my pocket. Hopefully, the Flex on my wrist will do better.

I'm 53 years old. I'm working on an Associate Degree although I have a Master of Science degree already. I lost 40lbs last year and working on losing an additional 30 pounds this year. I try to walk 10000 steps a day on any day I don't spend an hour on my bike. Some days I do the 10k steps and ride the bike. I keep a copy…

Jan. 1: 203.4 Jan. 9: 199.4 I really weigh-in normally on Mondays. However, I've been spot checking my weight this week and I've finally slipped to being under 200 lbs. I'm still planning on losing another 25 lbs.

Start weight for Challenge - 203 Goal Weight for Challenge - 183 Ultimate Goal Weight: 175 Lbs to Lose: 28 I'm already down 43 pounds. This next 20 might not be easy.

Someone mentioned bikes. I now have two. My first bike is an old Trek 820 Mountain Bike that I've converted into a street bike. Changed out the seat for something comfy. Changed out the grips. I've got a bunch of bike clothing now. My wife refers to this as the MAMINS (Middle Aged Man In Neon Spandex) effect. I also added…

Excellent. I'm actually having a cookie or two over the holidays. However, I'm also entering them into MFP and tracking the calories. So far, I've been really staying close to my limits each day. Hopefully, you will all manage to stay with the program through the holidays and get a good start into the New Year.

Great work. Here is to hoping that you reach some more fitness goals in the New Year.

My weight loss and fitness program has two parts. Move More. Eat Less. I've switched from a Fitbit Zip to a Fitbit Flex. Apparently, I'm a bit hard on stuff carried in my pocket. I've found that riding a bike works well for me. I have a mountain bike, put some smooth tires on it, and ride at least 5 days a week. I've just…

Congrats. Great job and keep up the good work.

On Day 141 of 1000. I have logging for 1000 days as one of my current goals.

My 38 waist jeans are fitting pretty good at the moment and I could not have even got those on last August. Therefore, the lose 20 by Xmas deal has been pretty good for me. My problem at the moment is that I don't think I've finished my weight loss journey. Therefore, I'm a bit reluctant to buy new clothing at this time.…

Raises hand... 53. Nothing wrong with having just about any food. I still love bread, but I don't eat much of it. Weight loss is about the calorie deficit. As long as you fit bread into your calorie count, you can lose weight while still having bread. For instance, I have been having a bagel or banana bread for breakfast…

I've pretty much convinced myself to lose the additional 20 pounds. The Xmas group worked out well for me.

I thought I had slowed down on weight loss. Turns out that I'm not doing too badly since that last post. I'm actually down about 6 pounds since the end of October. This would be despite the fact that my primary exercise bike is down right now. As soon as I get my bike back from the shop, I can add some more exercise to my…

Actually, Thanksgiving week was a bit of a set-back for me, but I'm charging hard this week to make up for the lost ground. Three weeks filled with dedication and logging until Santa comes. You can do this.
-
I've also hit my old goal weight and lost 20lbs. I have set a new goal and will continue until the challenge is over.
-
Well done and great advice. Keep up the good work.

Oddly enough, I have more than one iron in the fire at a time. I've lost a lot of weight and I'm going to college and working on my third degree at the same time. In a way, I think success in one area encourages success in others.

I'm spending this Thanksgiving cooking and baking for my in-laws family. I'm spending Xmas cooking and baking for my family. I think my strategy for this holiday season shall be to not eat sweets. That is going to be quite tough since I have an excellent cranberry-apple pie that I will make at least twice. I will allow…

I'm doing the fairly standard MFP slow weight loss. I ride my bike on average about 5+ hours a week. I do not do strength training. Since May 16th, I'm down about 38 pounds of which 34 pounds was fat. Weight and fat mass measurements were taken about weekly. Dropped my BMI from 32.5 and fat % 36.2. Currently I'm somewhere…

20 by Easter to celebrate the New Year sounds good. I might not have 20 to lose by then, but would still play along.

You have started your journey and we wish you success. I always think of the following: "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." Like you, I will end up losing 50 to 60 pounds. At the six month mark, I'm down about 38 pounds. I knew when I started this move towards fitness that I would have a tough time…

I don't know where to find my initial weigh-in, so I'm writing a new post. Start weight: 229.0 Goal Weight (by the end of the challenge): 210, MFP set goal: 195 Goal Aim: 19 lb loss Lbs to go: 0 I used my August weigh-in as start. Was trying to lose 19 pounds before Xmas. 08/04: 229.0 09/08: 222.8 10/06: 214.8 The Health…

I think if you looked that you would find that most of the older members on MFP are not on their first weight loss journey. Personally, I lost 50 pounds 10 years ago and I'm now working to take that same 50 pounds off again. I took a lifetime fitness course when I took my BA about 35 years ago. Imagine still struggling…
