Thank you for such an inspiring and timely post. I walked 3.5 hrs on my (homemade/rigged) treadmill desk recently and was surprised to see I had burned over 1,000 calories. As someone who is used to doing more intense cardio, I was wondering if these calories would be as effective for weight loss. Silly question, I know,…

Hey there, I rigged a treadmill desk by simply putting a wire bookcase shelf across the arms. I sit my laptop, keyboard & mouse on top of small boxes to get the ergonomics right. I haven't been consistently using it but plan to get back in the groove after today's results. I walked for 3.75 hours today while working on a…

I discovered Spin a few years ago when I was looking for low-impact cardio options - I think I took one step class too many back in the day. :)

Hey there, I liked the Chalene Extreme tape. She's a very good instructor - really gives a lot of instructions about proper form. It's a good beginner's program and the session durations range from 33 to 45 mins - very efficient. I have a 30 day BB streaming trial, so I also checked out a preview of the Hammer & Chisel…

Deep Breath.... Hi everyone, I'm a little late to the party but I'd like to join the group. I've been reading through some of the posts and I love the energy and support - which I really need. This is round 2 for me on MFP. I dropped 20 lbs using the app around this time last year. I think mostly by creating my deficits…

OMG - LOL! I think we've all done this - or the teeny-tiny turn

Spingirl605's comments (and the others :) ) are on point. I switched to Spin classes after years of Step classes hurt my knees. I've been Spinning for a few years now and while I try to keep up with the class in general, I always adjust my ride when needed. I hope you'll give Spin a try and have a fun class!

This!! When I've lost weight before (alas starting over again), I remember asking a good male friend, why guys were staring at me. I mean, were they trying to do some sort of Jedhi mind trick to get me to walk over and ask them out?
