  • It's helped me immensely. I was glancing at myself in the mirror last week and noticed that my stomach is definitely flatter. My weight has slowed down but I'm still losing inches. Not everyone loses in the same way so you just have to keep trying different methods to see what works best for you.
  • Eating more lean protein, vegetables and whole grains helps a lot. Eliminating refined sugars and grains is very important. Are you doing enough cardio? If so, just make sure you mix it up by running, high impact aerobics, HIIT workouts, elliptical and whatever gets your heart rate up. And be sure to drinks a lot of water…
  • Another back envious individual here too!
  • That is a wonderful accomplishment! Keep up the great work!
  • You look great! Such an inspiration! :flowerforyou:
  • Congratulations! I'm close to the 150s too and I don't think I've been there since the mid-late 90's either. I can't wait! I really want to get under 155 so I can FINALLY get out of that "overweight" category the darn national standards has me in. :grumble:
  • I add 1 Tbs of cocoa powder to my morning smoothie and it's very yummy. Plus it only has 10 calories per Tbs!
  • It wasn't just one thing for me. I'm a little stubborn and tend to lie to myself often. So there were 3 things that set me off, they were: 1. Seeing just how squinty my eyes looked in a picture of myself and realizing they weren't squinting but that my cheeks were just getting very fat 2. I bought 1 pair of size 14 jeans…
  • Getting "close"? Girl! You ARE THERE! You look great!
  • Actually what apple cider vinegar does is slows down the metabolism process of converting carbohydrates into fattening sugars. It really only works with bread and grains. I've read that if you drink a little ACV before a heavy meal that it will make you feel full faster too.
  • I will workout extra hard just so I have extra calories if, and only "if", I get hungry at night. When that happens I'll usually reach for a piece of string cheese (it's a great source of protein and calcium) OR I'll have a small piece of dark chocolate (because I heard it curbs that cycle of craving something salty and…
  • I agree! I eat Udi's gluten-free bread and it really is yummy! I was so afraid to try it but awfully glad I did now. However, pretty much all breads are high on the glycemic index and that's why protein and vegetables are stressed so much. I try to limit how much bread I eat and focus on eating as much lean meat,…
  • Genetics plays a huge part. My husband always says he doesn't have calves, he has cows. He also has huge forearms. He NEVER lifts weights. Seriously. He's been this way his whole life. His dad was built pretty much the same way and all the men on his side of the family are built the same. Our youngest daughter is…
  • I keep telling everyone that it's about making changes one at a time. Don't overwhelm him with all kind of new foods and changes. Very slowly introduce him to new veggies. He might only like something a little the first time he tries it but each time he eats it again he'll start to like it more and more. It takes, what,…
  • A lot of these suggestions are pretty funny! Hot coffee. Hot tea with lots of lemon juice. A natural cleanse supplement. If all else fails, a suppository laxative.

  • Okay, I finally figured out to post a picture in a thread. It's no longer Thursday where I am but I just saw this post. This picture was taken a few years ago and it's one of my favorite, if not the most favorite, pictures of myself. Unfortunately my husband has never been a leg man. :grumble: He's more of a boob…
  • YouTube videos like FitnessBlender (do a search on YT for them). Videos on Dr. Oz. Netflix. Videos from the library or an occasional rental from the video store. Borrow equipment and/or videos from friend, maybe even try a swap. You might be able to find videos and equipment off of Craigslist or eBay. Buildings with…
  • Yes! I LOVE pineapple. I think I lived in the Caribbean in a past life. I prefer Chobani because they don't use actual sugar in their ingredients. I realize they use cane juice which is essentially the same but it's not quite the same either. If that makes sense. LOL I'll have to try the Apple and Cinnamon kind…
  • This! My suggestion: Bring some celery and carrot sticks to work with you tomorrow. Keep offering her some over and over again. Hopefully she'll get the message. Good luck! And keep staying strong!
  • I agree with you. I believe genetics plays a huge roll in it too. For example, my husband never, ever lifts weights but his arms (biceps and forearms) and legs (thighs and calves) are HUGE! I always tell him, "Imagine how buff you'd be if you actually lifted weights regularly!" *hint, hint* And he always says,…
  • Confession time: I have ADHD- Inattentive Type for which I take medication. I take Adderall which suppresses my appetite during the day. I can maintain or stay under my daily caloric intake pretty good. That being said, nighttime is when my medication wears off and the cravings hit. When they hit I make sure I have healthy…
  • Incredible! You look totally awesome! (Can you tell I'm an 80's girl? LOL)
  • Either you're THAT good or you're a cheater. Amazing!
  • I tend to agree with you too. Why? Because I rarely eat breakfast and I'm dropping weight like nobody's business. I'm just making better food choices. More protein and fiber, less sugar (artificial sugar, white sugar and high fructose corn syrup) and less bad carbohydrates. My MFP caloric intake is set at 1380 and it's…
  • Happy belated birthday! :flowerforyou: I just joined too. 46 here!
  • Did it help?
  • 26. Oh, boy! This is dangerous!
  • ^ That! *high five* We'll probably have a small salad too.
  • Have you considered going gluten free? I feel so much better since I eliminated wheat bread from my eating. Also, try adding chia seeds to your foods for extra fiber. I add it to my yogurt and I really like it. Maybe add a psylium capsule supplement to your daily routine, as it will help fill you up a little and add more…
