It upsets me when people think being gay is a choice. It's not. Why would anyone choose it? Not that there's anything wrong with it, but society isn't exactly nice about it.

I honestly don't have anything to add to this. I think everyone else has given really good info. I just wanted to say that I like your avatar. :flowerforyou:

I don't think it's true. I'm a firm believer that people are born homosexual or heterosexual. It's not a decision you make. As a gay person, I can't imagine being straight. I have always been this way.. and I also have no interest in becoming heterosexual or being "cured".. ugh, cringe. I think this is a temporary…

Yup. I lost 15 pounds and I can't seem to lose anymore. As of today, I'm trying low carb.. tired of waiting for something to happen.
-
I have a lot of food related guilt, so I don't do "cheat" days. If I really want something, I can usually fit it into my daily goal. Or I'll compensate for it the next day.

Yet in America, it's ok for the WBC to protest funerals. Huh.

Do you happen to remember those texts? I'm curious to know. I've met many Muslim people and have been close with a few. I've never known one who thought terrorism was good, or justified. I've never seen any quotes from the Qur'an justifying it, either.
-
Same here. :smokin:
-
I agree with him. Being in the military is a job just like anything else. It's not a volunteer position.
-
Personally, I don't understand the fear of Islam. Then again, I'm not an American. Has anyone here ever read the Qur'an? I haven't, but I'm willing to bet that it doesn't say anything about being a terrorist or killing people.

Yes, I think boys should be allowed piercings just as much as girls. I don't understand why it matters either way. It's a piercing. It has nothing to do with character.
-
I don't know.. I think the whole "free speech" thing goes too far in America. Some things are so malicious and hateful.. why should people have to listen to them? I don't think this pastor should be getting any attention from the media.

1300 calories. I'm at around 136 right now and 5'1". I'm hoping to get down to 115 or 110 eventually.. seems to be taking me forever to lose weight, though. I had to stop going to the gym and haven't lost in a while. There's no way I can do the low carb thing, either..

Yes, true. Even if you are gay and married to another woman. I find that a little silly, but hey, whatever! Mine isn't weight loss or fitness related. I had 2 impacted wisdom teeth removed a few months ago. The teeh were not even capped and still inside of my gums. Instead of giving me a general anesthetic, the surgeon…

Any place the word "feminism" is mentioned, you will usually find a male who feels threatened by it in some way. I have yet to fully understand why.

canadian feminist here :flowerforyou:

I think it's an excellent idea! A small step toward a more sustainable future. We currently have a 5 cent tax on all plastic bags here. The Mayor is fighting to get rid of it, but I'd much rather the plastic bags go.. although they are good for cleaning out the litter box.

Perfectly said.

I'm 5'1" and I honestly have a hard time not going OVER my calorie goal. I work on my feet 4-5 days a week. The only way I can stay below is if I eat extremely healthily and cut down on carbs. It's hard. I haven't lost in a while, though, so I'm seriously considering trying a fad diet for a boost. Not sure what to do. I…

Awesome! My wife and I have been Married since October. :)

My wife is working today. She wanted to go out for dinner, but I think it would be nice to stay in and I'll make something nice. Hopefully she'll agree.
-
Haha, same here! I tend to leave the dishes to my wife, though. I just hate doing them.
-
Congrats!

Thanks for assuming that being gay or loving someone of the same sex is a choice. Your argument doesn't make any sense and hasn't from the beginning. I've asked you to clarify and you still haven't. Do you not have a reason? Luckily, I live in a place that doesn't discriminate against me just because my partner doesn't…

As a gay person, the inherent privilege of straight people is, at times, very frustrating. :brokenheart:
-
In that case, why don't you feel the same way about straight people? Why can't they just stay how they are, living together, etc. and leave out the marriage bit? You seem to think it's pointless.
-
What, exactly, is your reason for thinking marriage should only be between heterosexual couples? You haven't stated a reason for that.
-
A small step forward for America. :) One day, your country will catch up.. it's definitely getting there.
-
You are completely contradicting yourself. I find your opinion of gay people incredibly offensive. What reasons would YOU want to get married? Gay people want to get married for those exact same reasons. We're not aliens. We're human. As a woman who is married to another woman, I honestly find opinions like yours kind of…

I have tried to eat 1700 calories for about a week now, and the only time I made it there was yesterday. In fact, I even went over a little bit and that's only because I hate something "bad." Every other day, I was still netting around 1200-1300. It's hard to eat so much! I need to stop being fearful of such calorie dense…
