  • I am aware that it looks that way, but I'm not willing to give up on my fitness goals. I have always had an unhealthy body image and relationship with food, so I'm not worried. I'm here to better myself and in turn hopefully FEEL better about myself. I don't have a problem or eating disorder.. just some guilt, like a lot…
  • MFP never sets me to more than 1250 calories, even if I put that I want to lose .5 lb/week, because of my height, I'm assuming. My BMR is only 1300-1400, so I set my calorie goal to 1350.. but the poster above (flufflykitsune) was suggesting I eat 1600, based on my activity level.
  • Well, I did the 8 k walk today. That, plus what I burned at the gym = 540 calories burned through exercise today. That's great, but.. I ended up eating 2000 or so calories today, making my NET around 1500. I feel extremely guilty.. I never eat that much. I just feel like I need to restrict a lot tomorrow so that I don't…
  • I guess my job would be considered a "food service" type of job. I am mostly always moving while at work. Usually walking around, cleaning, prepping food, serving people, etc. Sometimes lifting 30 lb or so boxes. I am on my feet for the full 6 hours a day. I go to the gym 3 days a week, usually and work out for an hour or…
  • Everything I've read on MFP about these things has made me want one, but I can't afford it.. the fact that you have to pay to see your info also turns me off of it. Does sound like a good device if you have the money for it.
  • I started around 150, now I'm at 133 and would like to get to 110. I'm hoping I'll be at least close to that by the end of the summer..
  • I'm 5'1" with a goal weight of 110. I'm down to 133, so my loss is extremely slow going right now.. total bummer.
  • Thanks!.. sucks for me, though. My BMR is only 1283, and only have 23 pounds to lose, which means slowww. Thanks for the info.
  • I feel like I have this to some degree, too. I feel very ugly and fat almost all of the time. I hate looking at myself in the mirror, but sometimes I do it just to see how I ugly I am and put myself down in front of my partner. Other people see me completely differently.. of course.. but I feel that they are lying to me. I…
  • ah, a canadian! I don't really have "cheat" foods.. I just try to fit things in when I want them. I like to have a mcdonald's meal once in a while, though.. or frozen yogurt with all kinds of toppings.
  • the jesus person has got to be a troll
  • I realized I should just remove the meat once cooked and weigh it so I get an accurate number. Thanks!
  • I weigh myself very sporadically at home. I'm not sure my scale is accurate. I usually weigh myself 3-4 times a week when I'm at the gym - again, there are fluctuations because I'm not doing it an on empty stomach always, different times of the day, etc. It's hard not seeing it move down, though. I should, perhaps, ignore…
  • Body fat percentage is a much better and more accurate measure. I don't care what my BMI is, as long as I don't have too much body fat.
  • I don't do cheat days, I just work it into my calories.. (doesn't necessarily always fit into macros, though).. If I do end up going over, I will try and make up for it over the next few days. That way, it's evened out for the week.
  • I started at 28.3, currently 26.1, although BMI is fairly useless.
  • It depends on your height/weight/age/activity level. For example, I'm only 5'1".. when I started, I weighed 150 lbs, so MFP set me at 1200 calories in order to lose 1 pound per week.
  • I don't see how something with zero calories can make you gain weight unless there is some type of underlying medical condition.. ? The amount of sodium in diet pop is so minuscule, I'm surprised it was even mentioned. There is WAY more sodium in oatmeal, bread, etc. than even a can of diet pop.
  • I would like to get one just to figure out a good TDEE estimate for me.. but I find it too expensive.
  • Thank you! I've so far upped to 1400 and will go up to 1600 in a week or so. Definitely going to try some P90X or something similar once I'm done with the shred. I only have 5lb hand weights and can't afford more at the moment.. At least it's something. Thanks again!
  • I've never been told that I look like a celebrity.. I'm such a special snowflake. :flowerforyou:
  • wow, pretty awesome results! I think I need to get 30DS back out and try it again. I have an injury at the moment and also vertigo, so I don't know how well I'll be able to do all the moves, but your progress certainly makes me want to try!
  • It's odd, that's for sure, but there certainly are plenty of other gyms for the "skinny" people to go to. No loss there, but still wtf at this concept.
  • 5'1" with a goal weight of 110.
  • I don't think I'm "settling".. I gave up working out at the gym a few months back due to financial issues. I know I could be exercising more right now, but I'm not. Not because I don't want to reach my goal, but because there are so many other things going on in my life.
  • I usually plan my day the night before. Sometimes I don't end up feeling like having whatever I put in there, though, & end up changing it. I would never be able to do a week at a time - I'd forget what I even put in there and be constantly checking.
  • Even If I set my goal to lose .5 lb per week, MFP will still give me 1200 calories (I eat 1300). I feel like the "rules" can be bent more for short people.. some of us have a low BMR. My maintenance is only 1700-1800, so how am I supposed to lose weight? I don't want this process to be extremely slow.
  • Age: 24 Height: 5'1" SW: 150 CW: 135-136 GW: 110
  • I've felt uncomfortable, too.
  • I don't think there is any "supposed." Seems like an odd term to use.. assumes that there is some kind of plan or that we are programmed to eat certain things. Yes, there are things that we cannot digest, but that's just part of evolution. We have evolved to a point where we consume milk all our lives.. but.. so?
