This is the only 'fad' diet I have ever done...but no lectures allowed so I will stick to the facts. I did it around three years ago now. Yes it worked, I lost weight after being on the mother of all plateus for several months. It's a horrible diet, cutting out so many good and healthy foods, I felt ill most of the time I…

Just back from nine days in Ibiza and I ran THREE times - I've been doing this healthy lifestyle thing for several years now but have still always seen holiday time as time to relax, eat, drink and be merry - this is the first time I've ever taken my running gear with a plan to get a few good workouts in and I did it :)

Highest ever was 15 stone 10lbs - and I'm only 5ft tall. Lowest was 8 stone 7lbs which I maintained for a year or so before gaining a little bit back. Currently at dead on 10 stone and been stuck here for ages - I can't seem to lose weight for love nor money at the moment, but at the same time I don't gain very easily…

Made up a cup of icing to put on a cake - sat and spooned the whole thing into my mouth instead.

I was at first - hated the idea of people seeing and judging me so I went at 'quiet' times and I wore a baseball cap to 'hide' behind - seems like a lifetime ago now, you get used to it as you get better and realise no one (other than the very occasional immature prat) cares. I've now been running three years - enter races…

Maybe 10. I've not had one for years and was never really a big McDonalds food fan - even before getting healthy I always found the food to be 'junk' and always still felt hungry after eating it.

You are probably eating at least 50% more than you are logging doing it this way. I am afraid you need to be precise and exact to get a real picture of how many calories you are consuming.

Fitbit works with Andriod - I have a Fitbit Flex and Samsung Galaxy and they work fine together.

You seem to be relucant to weigh your food - it's been the main bit of advice giving in this thread but you seem to keep skirting around it so I think people are just trying to drill into you how important it is. A meal of chicken, veggies and pasta could be really healthy and low calorie but if you are having big portions…

Probably the right decision, though I get the feeling that won't be your last post... I wish you luck.

Personal best is 29.46 - JUST managed to break the 30 min barier!! Generally I am around 31 - 32 though. I find it hard to run faster for any length of time.

Gave up several years. Gained 2 stone. Lost 2 stone (+more). Much better off, healthier and will live longer. Totally worth it :)

Decide which is your least favourite leg. Acquire a very sharp saw....

Did you do the cleaning while you were gaining weight/not trying to lose weight? If yes then why log it now you are trying to lose weight. It's different for everyone I am sure but for me it seems like logging things such as low/moderate effort housework is just cheating yourself.

Thanks all. I guess I had misunderstood what they are actually for which is why I couldn't find them!
-
Log it and find out how many calories were in it - all the tools are here on Myfitnesspal for you to do so. Although even if it was a lot of calories you are hardly going to gain a significant amount of weight from it.
-
Thanks all - very informative. I will have a reread of what has been said, do a little research online and perhaps come back with more questions. I guess I don't know much about the aerobic base you are talking of - so yeah, I need to go and educate myself about my aerobic base first I think :)

^ Can you expand on why you think the speedwork isn't needed? Most plans I have seen have at least some speedwork in them. Thanks :) And thanks all for the suggestions, I will check them out.

Everyone will see it differently - for me they are different in the following ways. A diet is reducing what you eat for the sole reason of trying to lose weight, a diet is temporary and often faddy. Counting calories is being aware of exactly what you are eating, and allows you to eat how you like (whether it's a…

I work in a Chinese and get a free meal each night - pretty much everything in a Chinese is going to be fried in a wok or deep fried so it's hard to find a healthy option. Go for something that isn't battered, go for something in gravy or with the sauce seperate (as all the sauces are absolutely loaded with sugar and/or…
