@Heather4448: Hmmmm. OK. Thanks again for sharing your solution.

@Heather4448: Oh, I see what you mean by shelf liner. I thought you meant the think stick-on sheets, but this spongy stuff is better. Did you remove the original grip? (Was there any original grip at the spot where you put shelf liner?) And just to be sure, do you actually grab the taped shelf liner part, or is that just…

@Heather4448: Would you happen to recall the brand name and product name of the grippy shelf liner stuff? Also, could I trouble you to post a photograph of your handy work? @sgt1372: I was looking at a site that sold these tubular grips, but I wasn't relishing the idea of threading the grips onto the curvy tubes after…

What a world of different it makes to load up on meat, fat, carbs, and vitamin C (oranges) after a workout. It's as if I hadn't done an intense workout at all.

Yeah. I guess that's a solution will need to try. Not the same as going to the limit and pushing against it (figuratively), but I don't want a relapse. Thanks.

It has taken a month, but I'm slowly getting some muscular responsiveness back. Doing two sets to failure (that's just a handful of reps!) every other day. Not supersetted like before, so dialed back quite a bit. Neither the sports med doctor nor the family doctor thought that exertion rhabdo was the primary suspect, but…

I agree in general the idea of needing corroboration by well constructed studies, but as I described in my original post, my decision to invest in glucosamine is based on the subjective experience that it has an effect. I have to make a subjective decision on whether it might be a placebo effect, and certainly, the…

I'm really at a lost to understand your post. If you're really so incensed by the information I've found online, it's so easy for you to cease participating in the thread. The only explanation I can fathom is that you're trolling.

The point about impacting the shark population is well taken. Not sure how to deal with the risk of BSE, and the lack of oversight in the sources of the ingredients. It all seems like a black box. The most recent dated info from 2016: http://www.verywell.com/mad-cow-disease-and-chondroitin-188114 Mayo clinic mention of the…

Of course work is not more important than long term health. It's just that I feel perfectly fine, so I wanted to check for some common knowledge about this kind of situation before taking time off. It's a real bummer not being able to rip off a superset whenever I need it. As for being in the US, no I'm in Canada. Cost is…

Point taken. I have to find a way to schedule an appointment (probably better with the sports medicine doctor than a family doctor). :( I'm not adverse to seeing doctors, it's just that, yes the employer would want a healthy employee, but the deadlines...the all the dynamics that create the threats to the deadlines...they…

Thanks for all your answers and your links. I'm not too worried about gluts because I usually take stairs rather than elevators. But I want very much to work the small of the back. I know that back extension are the way to go, but I want a routine that I can do at home with just a matt rather than machine. Hmmm. Looks like…

Agreed. I stretch out before doing them, though. I figure the stretch is good anyway. So I have the luxury now of choosing the one of the 2 methods based on which is better for the back.
