We don't have Pure Barre classes near where I live, unfortunately - or any barre studios for that matter. :( But I do the Barre3 DVDs and their online streaming classes. I love them! I've tried Physique 57, the Bar Method, and Callanetics - and Barre3 is definitely my favorite. I would love to try Pure Barre someday though!

I love how some people in this thread are acting like people are coming up and holding a GUN to their head and INSISTING that they buy the product. This response, in particular, is unnecessarily hostile and preposterous. ummm... good for you? Everybody has a different path in life to take. yes REALLY. Why open up a thread…

I just started this plan a few days ago and I'm LOVING the workouts. The instructor is motivating but not annoying. And I must say OMG I'm SO sore just after these 2 workouts---my ABS (which NEVER seem to get sore) and my butt especially. I had previously been doing 50+ minutes of Turbo Fire, P90X, and some other longer,…

Hello, I am starting the 17 day diet tomorrow! I went grocery shopping today for all the foods, and I made the chicken vegetable soup recipe in the book. It's *really* yummy! I did tweak it a bit by sauteeing the chicken and veggies in olive oil (and will use that as the daily Allowed Fat) --oh and I added some chopped…

Congrats on your wedding! I think it's achievable, but I highly recommend keeping your carb intake on the lower side. Try to get the majority of your carbs from veggies, and low-sugar fruits. Actually, maybe look into the 17 Day diet or South Beach. Or the Primal or Paleo lifestyle --- those are great, too.

No they are just not ridiculously vanity-sized like many other cheaper brands.
-
Thank you. I kept thinking to myself---wth, why isn't anybody else pointing this out??? That being said--- I totally support low-carb if it works for you. And I support high carb. And medium-carb. Seriously, we are all very different, and our bodies (and minds) all respond drastically different to different methods. For…

This. For some people the only way to get rid of the belly bloat is to cut back on the processed carbs. I know it's the case for me. I get much more dramatic results when my carbs come from fruits, veggies, and a small amount of legumes or yam. Google "Wheat Belly" --- he has a website and a book. It's really eye-opening…

I think they'd have to add about 3 cups of soymilk to make it 300 calories. You may be over-estimating just a tad. Next time just add the soymilk yourself. Problem solved. Or you know, just tell them to stop adding extra.

All the true wine lovers just died a little bit inside.

Thumbs up! I really like it.

Yes, her kettlebell video is terrible, But she has other workouts that are seriously great, and deliver amazing results. Just because YOU don't agree with all of her philosophies does not mean she is an idiot.
-
Oh lordy. Please. Just stop being ridiculous.
-
I agree with you. People are panicking over absolutely nothing.
-
YOU are not supposed to do anything because it's obviously not the right plan for you. For other people, spacing out 6 fruit and veggie servings throughout the day would work just fine.

Awesome! I just bought a half-gallon of unsweetened vanilla Almond Breeze. I am SO trying this over the weekend. Thanks!!

I'm built more like you. I'm 5'6 and was wearing a comfortable 8 at 160 lbs this time last year. I think it has to do with how our weight is distributed. I've also worked out more or less consistently for the past 15 years. Right now I range in the low to mid 170s and wearing a 12.

Yep. It's surely not just Joes.

Agree with you 100%.

If one is doing the HCG + 500 calorie diet properly, you only eat at that restrictive 500 calorie level for 21-40 days, depending on how long YOU want to stay on it. It's a very specific diet comprised of lean protein, and specific fruits + veggies. 40 day at the 500-calorie level is the absolute MAX. Then you immediately…

Google "Stillman Diet." Basically all lean protein and nothing else. You can most definitely lose 10 lbs in 8 days. Of course, as others stated, it will be mostly water weight and you may be compromising your health in the process. But hey... what's health when you've got a dress to fit into!?//sarcasm

If you actually knew anything about the diet, and weren't just spouting off random bits of information you read "on the web" you'd know that there IS a maintenancee phase. And it DOES include good carbs and fruits and everything else.
-
Exactly. And he was in his 70s.

What an incredibly ignorant and disguusting statement.
-
I watch them. I try to stay under 100 per day but that does not always work out. Why only 20 carbs a day on SB? You are allowed to have beans, dairy, unlimited veg on Phase one--NO need to count carbs.
-
Oops hit reply too soon. I also wanted to add that you seem to be eating quite a bit of processed foods. I recommend more whole foods (the less that comes in a cardboard box- the better). I know, here in my 30s also, I really need to focus on lean proteins, fruits, veggies, good fats and minimize the carbs (not…

It honestly sounds like you need a good blood work-up. It truly sounds likes a potential underlying health cause, and I'd even venture a guess that it's a thyroid issue. I know you say you don't have the $$$ for a doctor, but when you do, I would definitely suggest a full check-up.

I've been a golds member for 5 years, and I love it! The classes are top notch. All the Les Milles ones --- Body pump, Body Combat, Body Attack, Body Flow--- are fantastic, and worth the price I pay monthly. Which is $50.
