I agree with pp, that sounds like way too much. If you search breastfeeding in your food log, it will actually add -500 calories to your total. So if it is telling you to eat 1490 calories per day, adding breastfeeding to your log will bump it up to 1990. I am still breastfeeding my 6 month old and my supply has been fine…

I hear you, I am constantly snacking, and I am always SO hungry when I am nursing! One of my favorite snacks is a handful of almonds or other nuts and a glass of chocolate milk. I also like to snack on peanut butter on celery or apples, Kashi granola bars, Greek yogurt with strawberries and wheat germ, and lots of fruit.

I say have it! If you deny yourself something you love for too long, you are going to end up binging on it when the craving gets too bad. Just watch the portion size. I sneak chopped up veggies into just about everything.
