Give yourself some time. It took me close to two years before I could eat cheese, red meat and high fat nuts like cashews! I'm nine years post-op and consider it a blessing in disguise. At 21, I wasn't looking at nutrition labels because I didn't have to nor did I care. But it forced a real lifestyle change! Be patient.

I should probably be more thrifty but we typically spend anywhere from $150 to $200 a week. We cook a lot and typically buy organic and splurge on more exotic items like spices, chocolates, imported beer, etc.. I am hoping to get to a place where I can plan all our meals but our lives are to crazy for that at the moment.…

Tough but best decision we every made. Daughter got tubes at 14 months. No more ear infections and her vocabulary and language are no longer suffering. Do it. And if you need to see another doc for second opinion, go for it.

Mine too. I prefer Fage over Chobani any day.

I LOVE quinoa. I personally enjoy it with black olives, feta, green peppers and some red onion and a dash of salt, pepper and olive oil--maybe some lemon.

I want to second Carson and his sage advice. Nothing replaces getting fitted at a running store by a running professional. They will sell you shoes based on your gait, weight and mileage and consider if you run on a treadmill or road. Be sure to bring your current pair in when you do decide to shop/purchase.

One of my absolute favorite salads in the summer is grilled asparagus, mixed greens and toasted pine nuts with a balsamic dressing. I personally like to shave parmesan on top. Yum!

Thanks for the tips. I am running five days a week. Three days on, one day rest, two days on, one day rest--then repeat!

These are some of my favorites: almond butter or reduced fat peanut butter, lean red meat like flank steak or strip, brown rice, whole wheat pasta, beans, hummus, nuts, reduced fat Greek yogurt, protein shakes, protein bars (so many good flavors), and lentil or chili soups. Hope this helps!

Don't have any tips but just wanted to say I am in exactly the same boat. Baby girl was born in January and there are seven pounds remaining. Are you still nursing? My doctor said this may be way my body is being so stubborn. I feel your pain. So frustrating!!!
