I am the same way, I weigh myslef evrey morning. I just keep in mind water fluctuations. as long as the weight is going down long term, and weighing evrey day is not messing with your mind, you'll be fine.

I usually switch to maintenance whenever I go on vacation, or around the holiday time. I still have managed to loose over 140 pounds in 20 months

I have no kids myself, but I see people in my neighborhood doing it often when I am out taking a walk.

I'll often buy the next size down, but not wear them until they fit properly. It motivates me to continues loosing.

Don't injure yourself. Calories in Vs. calories out is more important to losing weight then exercise.

When I go on vacation, or out of town, I aim for maintenance. If i loose anything, it is a bonus.

I enjoy going 90% of the time. I just got same days and time to keep me going the other 10% of the time. On weeks that stuff comes up and i need to change my scheduled, I just remind myself of the progress I made, and don't want to move backwards.,

Their are many factors in weather you drinking too much or too little. Height, weight, how much water you have been loosing due to sweating (exercise or heat related.) best option is speak to a health professional on best amount to drink.
