Super awesome post! Rock on!

Surprisingly, the beet and carrot versions of the Hardbite chips have one less carb per serving.

I've tried licorice root powder, as I find the tea sweet. I also tried a bit of us on syrup, and found it a bit triggering.

Save $$ and make your own, experiment until you find the best recipe for your body

I'm really enjoying prebiotic chia seeds right now... Not sure about the probiotic efficacy, they were he same price as regular chia seeds when I purchased them though, so went for it.

I'm also fond of intermittent fasting; having my first meal of the day at a time most people associate with lunch. It can be helpful to let go of breakfast/lunch/dinner labels and just think in terms of meals. For me, that helps me let go of the story of 'oh, I missed lunch and therefore get to/should eat more now…

Baked chicken! It keeps me fuller than anything else.

I resonate with what's being said; I identify with this group as my community and don't read the other forums ( except for the keto one, occasionally). I think keeping an eye on things, to ensure the predominant themes are low carb, is good ~ and that this shared focus helps to maintain the high caliber of this group.…

I love cream cheese pancakes ~ those sort of fall in the bread category (: I also like to wrap one around a sausage with some melted cheese ~~ sooo good!
-
Adding a stipulation that topics be kept roughly low-carb focused could be good too, there seems to be a greater shift to more general discussions lately.

I'm seriously considering trying out the Pavlok. I am intelligent and know what a healthy lifestyle would entail, yet have been unable to stick with it for sustained periods of time ~ muffins and cookies continue to be my downfall, sometimes leading to unhealthy binges. Those are way worse for me than a shock. It's not an…

... and NO added sweeteners or high carb food of any sort.

More protein.
-
... but maybe this is really just more of a warning to be mindful that you are getting enough protein, and that low-carb/keto is *not* meant to also be low protein?
-
This leaves me feeling confused about protein and keto, as there's so many pages out there warning that keto should be moderate protein not high protein, because of the whole protein being converted to glucose thing. Is there a calculation to estimate at what point you've hit the too much protein-to-glucose conversion…

How do you calculate calories and macros for bone broth?

Does anyone have a scale that syncs with their iPod/iPhone/computer?

Just saw this when digging back a bit; things get buried so fast it's easy to post repeats without realizing it! http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10372970/anyone-non-diabetic-using-a-glucometer-to-monitor-blood-sugar-effects#latest

Thanks for the feedback! :)

I had a bite of a friend's pizza that I'm not able to be meticulous about. Very happy with myself that I stopped at a bite. A whole slice was definitely an option.

I liked it because it was fun coming up with egg recipes, gave me a focus, and didn't feel overly restrictive. The fun and the focus helped me to get back on track after a bit of a carb bender. And I discovered egg pancakes, which are absolutely fabulous.

I heard once that many people loose weight when they stop eating cheese, because they significantly underestimated how much cheese they were eating. This was true for me. Measure it every time. You could pre portion it to save yourself some time.

I am so in! Been needing this. Great idea!!

Pumpkin Seed Protein is also good and low in carbs, unflavoured though so better mixed with something more than water.
-
I like Vega protein, mixed with water in a shaker. They have a pretty good reputation.
-
This is really helpful! It looks like coconut chips have a bit of potassium (:
-
Parsnip chips. OMG I just tried these for the first time ~~~ so amazingly delicious and low carb!

I did not eat popcorn at the movie's tonight. So many of my NSV's are about not eating carby food --- each time does feel like a victory worth celebrating to me though! I have a calendar up on my wall, and I put a fun sticker on top of each day that I'm successful in sticking within my calorie and macro intentions.

How about asking her to make you a mini one-bite burger? ;) If you made your own low-carb burgers, she could taste them and either dig them or not - and you could still taste a bite of her regular burger, *and* you may discover a delicious new recipe to add to your faves. It may even inspire something... you could be the…

What about developing a recipe for a low-carb bean burger? Perhaps you could replace half the beans with turnip or zuchinni, or even cauliflower. Maybe you could each make your own version of the burger, and then have a taste test.
