wouldnt trade lifting for all the cardio in the world! great post :-)

Same thing happens to me. Worked out this morning and am red as an apple. Its just me though....always been that way even now that I am in good shape. I take a warm shower followed by cold and allow myself enough time to dry off before dressing. Also a fan helps. usually within 40-45 mins I can apply makeup, get dressed…

you said you are eating 1500 and burning 1000? You should be eating way more. This site encourages you to eat back your exercise cals. Initially I didnt and lost then plateaued. When I started eating more I started losing 1-2 lbs a week and still am :-)
-
LOL agreed!!!!
-
My husband knows my weight but it was really hard for me to let my trainer see how much I weigh. LOL I weigh more than he thought but my bf% is pretty low so he was happy
-
I would increase your protein and a lot of days you leave ALOT of calories left over. You need to eat your exercise cals!
-
.25 lol
-
are you eating back your exercise cals? I found for me initially when I didnt I dropped weight then it stopped. when I started eating back my exercise cals the weight started coming back off
-
1.5 lbs is great!! Keep it up. This site works :-)
-
I went on vacation for a week and wasnt that good.....didnt log. Came back and have lost 4 lbs!! So only 6 left. sometimes taking a small break helps jump start you again :-)
-
Yes because MFP already creates a calorie deficit for you so eating them back is not a waste. I eat all mine back but about 200 to account for error in logging :-)
-
6 days a week for me with a day of rest but sometimes I still do a little something on that day as well. I lift 3 times a week and do cardio all 6 days.
-
also it doesnt appear you are eating enough protein....that will help you stay full longer
-
Yes....finally I am at a point in my life where I can say I am happy with me :-)

I worked out like a dog (6 days a week cardio and weights) and lost inches but no lbs for almost a year (after an initial loss). That was until I started really monitoring what I was eating. I had no idea how many cals were in some "healthy" things I was eating. Upon joining MFP and logging I started losing. Also I eat…

YES and it works!
-
LOG IT!!! it gives me motivation if the number goes higher than that when I see the lowest I have been :-)
-
initially increasing cals may up weight a bit but it comes back off. the only thing that has consistently worked for me is eating back my exercise cals - about 200 for error.
-
and I agree with Sarah44254....the actual lbs may be a little slower to come off but I care about how I look. I am now a size 6 and have muscle definition
-
From day one I have done a combination of BOTH. Warm up 10 mins, weights for an hour and then cardio. I lift 3 times a week and on the off days I do cardio only. It works. I have lost 22 lbs and instead of waiting until I lost the weight to tone, I have toned the whole time so have the definition and non-saggy skin I was…

Dr. pepper!
-
once in a while is ok however doing this consistently will yield loss at first and then stop
-
I eat all but about 200 as well to account for error in logging :-) This has worked for me....losing about 1.5 a week
-
Yes squats like they said above and reverse lunges. I also love step ups with weight and leg press. :-)
-
both combined are beneficial however I have been told cardio primarily helps with calorie deficit (you can eat more if you do it) and with heart and lung health. I choose cardio over not doing it to eat more. :-)
-
proper diet and exercise in time will yield the fat loss you want since you cannot spot train, however, lunges and squats and step ups (lots of them...like 3 sets 30 if you can) really helped me lose inches in my thighs combined with other weight exercises for my legs

Thanks! Mondays are hard but once I get thru the first morning workout I am ready to go! I also do 2 protein shakes a day to get the protein in I need like niner said. Gonna keep it up ....maybe in a couple months I will be where I want to be. :-)
