  • Dodge 3/4 diesel pickup quad-cab. Plenty of room for our three kids in the back seat. Plenty of room in the bed to haul anything you want and enough power to tow things you really should not be pulling. :) No other pick-up owners here?!?! Edit . . . Oh ya, its my favorite vehicle I have ever owned!
  • My first 5k at age 26 was 25:40, my last 5k at age 32 was 23:53 (this is my pr). The odd thing to me is I did no running to prepare for the last 5k, I was just doing P90X. Hopefully I will have a new PR on Saturday!

  • In Oregon if you get pulled over and your kids are not in the proper child/booster seat you can be sited with Child Endangerment which if the judge deems so gives the state an opening to take your kids. I don't pass judgement on other peoples parenting, but when advise is asked for . . . send the booster with him.…
  • I was thinking about cutting the calories down to 2500, was able to get 225g of protein in yesterday which is a manageable amount for me. I don't see it as a high protien/low carb diet. It has 30% setting on carbs (222 for me). High protein/low fat I would agree with. I don't have a lot of fat left to lose, according to…
  • We phased in a more clean eating style. What it comes down to for us is planning. Planning what you are going to need/eat to avoid those 'there's nothing to eat lets get fast food' moments. I was a big ranch eater, I have started using salsa for dressing on my salads and actually enjoy it. We have also made ranch with…
  • george foreman grill is a great way to cook quick healthy meals
  • I just heard about this terminal disease, its called LIFE . . . it kills every damn one of us! Enjoy your red meat, it is the perk of being at the top of the food chain. p.s. Vegetarians . . . my food poops on your food. :)
  • Bump, curious what this test consists of and cost.
  • Check out the Spartacus workout. I just started it and it is a good full body workout using dumbbells only.
  • I eat red meat at least 5-6 times a week. I think I would die without it. We have always raised our own beef. A good rare to med-rare steak is as close to heaven as you can get with food! So IMO a few times a week will benefit you greatly over not eating any.
  • http://www.bmi-calculator.net/body-fat-calculator/body-fat-formula.php Here is a formula to use to figure lean body mass, then you can use that to figure ideal body weight. The hand calculations seem to be fairly accurate for men, not sure on the female side of this website.
  • Good job to everyone. It is not about how fast you finish. You should be proud you set a goal and finished it! My best 5k race time is 24:40. Friday I did a 5.5 mile training run and hit 5k @ around 22:30. This has me actually looking forward to my next 5k race, or possibly a 10k?!
  • BEEF . . . it's whats for dinner
  • Did both calculators and got the same both times. Good info thanks for posting.
  • I know several people (appox. 8) that have tried the HCG diet. Most of them lost weight while on the diet and as of this date exactly none of them have kept the weight off. I was very against it when they tried it and all they accomplished was wasting some of their money and proving me right. My advice watch what you eat…
  • One of the first things I do when I get up is drink a glass of cold water. This is suppose to jump start your metabolism as your body burns energy to raise your core temp back up to normal. It seems to work for me, if it is just in my head or if it is really happening is open to opinion I guess. Long story short I have…
  • Because of kids and what not I usually end up running late a night and snack after. So I normally eat my last snack at about 11pm. Just have to make sure you save calories during the day. I usually eat mixed nuts or jerky for my night snack, sometimes trail mix - just depends on how many calories I have left.
  • I have been over my protien everyday since I started MFP 5 weeks ago. I wouldn't worry about it.
  • I grill it at the same temp. as I do beef steaks just for a little shorter time. But I also use grass fed very lean beef so that may not be the best example. I can't remember exactly but somewhere around 350* on the BBQ and cook for around 6 mins on each side (if not thawed completely may need to cook 6 mins 3 times). I…
  • I would try more getting more calories earlier in the day and more water. 8 cups should be your minimum and not your goal for each day.
  • ^^ THIS ! ! ^^
  • Measuring cups are for liquid ounces(oz as in volume). You need 4oz of cooked hamburger (oz as in weight). 1 oz of lean cooked drained hamburger is equal to 1/4 cup. So 4oz would be 1 cup.
  • I am not using the 30 day pack right now. I use the Ionix Supreme & shakes and add the fiber pro to the shakes. Adds 5 fiber per scoop and as far as I can tell has no change on the taste. Isadelites (sp?) are also a good snack item. I am a big fan of Isagenix, I did a 30 day pack and dropped 23 lbs in the 30 days.
  • burn more than you eat!
  • A couple of other tips. Stretching before and after is a must. When you are running try not to take short choppy steps & try not to 'over-stride' as these can cause extra stress on your legs. If you are running outside NEVER run on concrete, it very hard on your legs. Try to run on pavement or grass, or if possible run on…
