Steak

So I'm really sick of chicken, and becoming increasingly tired of fish too. Lately I've been having these really great salads with lean steak on top. It's delicious and very satisfying. I'm just wondering what the rule of thumb is for red meat? Is eating it a few times a week too much?

Absolutely not! Go for it just don't eat it with every meal (thats my rule). I rarely eat steak and lastnight I made some steaks for dinner YUM0

Its hard to find any consisitent info on the interwebs...the only thing I found with an actual number was a WebMD article that sited cancer research info saying to limit red meats to 18 ounces per week. To my mind, that says eating lean, unpprocessed red meat 2-3 times a week should be perfectly fine. My personal favorite is sirloin with some of the fat trimmed off - YUM!0

My husband and I eat steak at least once per week. I've lost 25 and he's lost 45. We LOVE red meat but because it is higher in calories than chicken, we only eat it once or twice per week. It is delish and we do not plan on stopping anytime soon!
Ribeye is our favorite. We also like to use thin chuck steaks for fajitas and the occasional filet is nice too!0 -
It's more expensive and (depending on the cut) more fatty, so I rarely buy it for myself, but I think variety is very good for you, so a little red meat here and there is mote than fine0

This one's been waiting to be put to use. The boards have been gracious this week. There will be more of the usual to follow, I'm sure.0 -
Steak is great It's higher in calories and more expensive but if it fits in your nutrition plan and tastes good, go for it.0

OMG, too funny. I love that scene!0 -
I eat red meat at least 5-6 times a week. I think I would die without it. We have always raised our own beef. A good rare to med-rare steak is as close to heaven as you can get with food!
So IMO a few times a week will benefit you greatly over not eating any.0
