  • Thank God! I thought I might drown! lol
  • I actually haven't had any problems with it at ALL. I've been warned and I've been anxiously waiting for it to kick in but nothing. I've dropped a pound or two but no emergency runs. lol
  • Thanks! I'll try that. I need to try on my spanx. I think I "out grew" them! >.<
  • Congrats on the weight loss JN! And yay for fellow Browncoats! <3 Thank you so much for the input and support. It's so frustrating that I was losing weight so well and got to 135 and one bad day (500 extra calories) just killed it and bumped me back up to 137. And my goal was to be below 135 by this Sunday for engagement…
  • In short, it's you're body and you have the right to diet to a weight that makes you happy. Next time she accusses you of becoming anorexic you can nicely point out that not everyone who diets develops an eating disorder. And as for bmi, it's pretty much only incorrect for bodybuilders bc their extra weight is from muscle.…
  • Awesome! I'll look into the converters and the scales. Thank you! :)
  • All these have been so helpful. I spent years being on the other end where I was encouraged to eat whatever I wanted whenever I wanted to keep my weight up. Now I'm having to completely retrain myself and break all those bad habits and it has not been easy. I'll definitely be putting some of these tricks to use!
  • lol I love this one.
  • This is what I'm doing. I can't cut out food types. With low calorie I can still eat the foods I want so long as eat light for my other meals or exercise a lot.
  • I agree. One big difference to me is, as a nurse, the sole purpose of your job isn't to tell people how to eat right or how to quit smoking etc. A personal trainer... that IS their job. That's the only function they have. They're suppose to tell you how to eat and exercise so you can be in shape and healthy. It's amazing…

  • I have four cats and Basil loves loves loves shoes! She'll stick her whole head in my sneakers, as far as her fat little head will go. And she has found a way to get on top of a free floating kitchen cabinet and she can't get down. And she keeps getting back up there. If you're on the couch, especially with food, Ginger is…
  • I have a friend who is a personal trainer and this is pretty much what she told me as well. Switch up your cardio and do light weights with high reps to tone and develop lean muscle. Heavy weights with low reps will build bulk. Heavy weights will tear muscle (when you're muscles feel sore) and having it tear and heal and…
  • How much water are you drinking? If you're drinking alot it could be keeping you from feeling hungry. I don't agree with forcing full meals and such onto yourself bc that can encourage bad eating habits. You should try to eat some kind of light snacks and see if that triggers your appetite. If you go hungry for a long…
  • This is actually pretty true. From what I remember from my Eating Disorders class and my Motivation and Emotion class, it is harder for women to lose weight because your body does strive to hold on to a certain percentage of fat so that you can get pregnant and reproduce. If a woman's percentage of fat falls below a…
  • Well my cousin is about to graduate as a nursing student and I asked her about this two days ago. Excess protein will come out when you pee and from the most part isn't a problem unless your kidney's have a problem breaking it down in which case you'd get kidney stones. But I think if that was a problem for anyone you'd…
  • Oh and P.S. Apparently there is an Iphone app that's suppose to measure your sex activity. You open the app and leave the phone on the bed and it measure by how much the bed moves and tells you how many calories you burned and I think a couple of other things. I saw it on The Doctors but they said they weren't sure how…
  • I remember reading in one of my health magazines recently that sex can burn anywhere from 85 to about 250 calories. Of course depending on if you're doing missionary or the human chandelier and if you're just rolling around on the bed or throwing people against walls.
  • Thank GOD! I love chicken enchiladas! And I so want that book! Thank you so much for the help guys! Going out to eat always throws me off my diet. I don't know how to measure my calories so I just give up. MFP has made things so much easier and I really appreciate your help. :)
  • Wow you look gorgeous! Congrats!
  • *Like* lol
  • Ok, so everyone seems to keep missing the point that the question is why not -- temporarily-- starve yourself to supress your appetite and then start eating and exercising. Essentially, why not fast? While some diets promote this, it probably isn't the best method to take. Even though you eventually start eating and…
